The University of Georgia issued a statement that there are no eligibility issues with junior tight end Orson Charles, who is mentioned in the article. The school had contacted the NCAA after the report mentioned the Charles had taken a 'recruiting trip' to Shapiro's home by a Miami assistant in 2008.
Shapiro is a convicted Ponzi schemer who claims he gave University of Miami football players cash, cars and jewelry while he was a booster.
Shapiro also claims he picked up the tab at nightclubs, arranged sex parties, and paid for the abortion of a woman who got pregnant by one of the players.
The NCAA could impose sanctions on Miami's football team and possibly other sports programs.
