Six-Year-Old Smyrna Boy Holds Hot Wheels Toy Drive

SMYRNA, Ga. (CW69 News at 10) -- Like any businessman, six-year-old Landon Floyd has lots of business to take care of, looking at an iPad and checking to see what his Christmas clients have sent. His wheels are already turning about his future plans.

"I want to be a toy helper and an officer and a karate teacher," he said. Landon's already a toy helper, so to speak. He rolled out his Hot Wheels Toy Drive back in October, collecting donations through Amazon. "We started with a few of them, and then we got on Amazon to add some more," he said.

"It started with us wanting to do a random act of kindness for a friend that was doing a Barbie toy drive," said Stephanie Floyd, Landon's mom, sharing how he wanted to make sure little boys got Christmas toys, too. "We took our first load of 1,000 Hot Wheels to MUST Ministries yesterday, and they take donations until the 15th." They'll also be collecting toys for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta through December 19.

Landon dedicated this effort to his aunt, who passed away around this time last year. "For him to want to help and to just remember her at this time filled my heart," Stephanie said.

He's counting the donated toys, keeping his aunt's memory alive, and making sure he's on someone's nice list. "Santa Claus will think I'm a good boy," he said.

This very good boy says you can get in good with Santa too, by donating hot wheels or by just helping out in your community.
