Allison (Jennifer Garner) and Carlos ( Edgar Ramirez) are parents who decide to give their kids a 'yes day' where for 24 hours they have to say yes to everything their kids suggest they do.     Yes Day Website

What to Watch For: The film is based on the book by the same name, written by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Tom Lichtenheld.

Word on the Street: The film is directed by award-winning filmmaker Miguel Arteta, who directed Jennifer Garner in the 2014 film Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.

My Take: I am ready for a fun film like this to sit and enjoy.

 

The Father (2020)

Anthony (Anthony Hopkins) is set in his ways and does not want help living in his home. His daughter (Olivia Colman) struggles to find someone who will get along with her father, who is starting to lose his grip on reality.    The Father Website

What to Watch For: The film was nominated for four Golden Globes, including Best Actor for Hopkins and Best Supporting Actress for Olivia Coleman.

Word on the Street: The film made the top ten list of the Atlanta Film Critics Circle.

My Take: How can you go wrong with Olivia Coleman and Anthony Hopkins?

Soleil Moon Frye, at age eight, became a big star on her hit TV show Punky Brewster. Frye always had a video camera in her hand and shot hundreds of hours of footage of her youth. What to Watch For: The film interviews Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Brian Austin Green, Stephen Dorff, David Arquette, Jenny Lewis, and Heather McComb.

Word on the Street: This is the second documentary feature that Frye has done. The first was Sonny Boy, which won the San Diego Film Festival in 2004.

My Take: I can't wait to see this documentary.

Word on the Street: Award-winning lead actress Julia Sarah Stone is best known for her roles in Honey Bee (2018) and The Killing (2011).

My Take: I am always up for a good suspense film.
