Opening this week at a theatre near you:

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn-Part 2 (2012)

Source: Summit Entertainment

After the birth of their daughter, Renesmee, Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) gather up the Cullen Vampire clan to protect their child. Irina (Maggie Grace) feels that Renesmee, whose miraculous birth, is a threat to the Volturi; so she sets out to kill the child. Now the ultimate battle is about to go down. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2

What to Watch For: Will the real life romantic troubles between Stewart and Pattinson affect the box office?

Word on the Street: This may be the best of the "Twilight" films, which may have something to do with it having the highest budget of any of the films within the franchise.

My Take: The question isn't will this film open big, the real question is how big; with it appearing on 4000 screens and having the first showings at 10 pm on Thursday, instead of the usual midnight.

Lincoln (2012)

Source: Dreamworks Studios

As the Civil War continues Abraham Lincoln (Daniel Day-Lewis) is determined to pass the 13th amendment and battles Congress as well as his own cabinet to abolish slavery. Lincoln Website

What to Watch For: Directed by Steven Spielberg, the film has one of the most impressive casts in recent memory. Besides Day-Lewis, just a few of the actors in this film include Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones, John Hawkes, Hal Holbrook, James Spader and David Strathairn.

Word on the Street: It's almost certain that Daniel Day-Lewis will get a Best Actor nomination, but who in the cast, will get Best Supporting Actor?

My Take: The film is beautifully shot by the Oscar winning Cinematographer, Janusz Kaminski, who was nominated last year for Spielberg's "War Horse."

That's What She Said (2012)

Actress Carrie Preston ("True Blood," "The Good Wife") directs this tale of two longtime best friends, Bebe (Marcia DeBonis) and DeeDee (Anne Heche), who are experiencing the trials and tribulations of love. Bebe has just met someone, but she isn't quite sure if he is the "one." DeeDee is trying desperately to forget someone. Along comes Clementine (Alia Shawkat), a young woman who has love problems of her own. The three women decide to journey to the big city of New York to get away and explore the world. That's What She Said Website

What to Watch For: The film is a great buddy film for the female audience.

Word on the Street: Alia Shawkat shines in the role of Clementine.

My Take: This was one of the more enjoyable films that I saw at the Atlanta Film Festival this year.
