Travis (Benjamin Walker) and Gabby (Teresa Palmer) are neighbors who just can't get along.  Travis is a veterinarian who likes playing the field.  Gabby is studying to become a doctor and has a steady boyfriend (Tom Welling). What to Watch For:  This is the 11th Nicholas Sparks book to be made into a movie.

Word on the Street:  The film was shot in Sparks home state of North Carolina.

My Take:  Only Stephen King has had more movies based on his books.

"Pride and Prejudice and Zombies"  (2016)

A plague has hit 19th century Britain and it's turning the dead into zombies. Elizabeth Bennet (Lily James) has been training her whole life in martial arts and weaponry. What to Watch For:  The movie is based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Seth Grahame-Smith.

Word on the Street:  The film was the talk of the 2015 San Diego Comic Con.

My Take:  A favorite actress of mine is Lena Headey, who plays Lady Catherine de Bourgh in the film.

"Hail, Caesar!"   (2016)

Eddie (Josh Brolin) is a Hollywood "fixer" helping the studio produce their blockbuster "Hail, Caesar!" starring the famous actor Baird Whitlock (George Clooney). When Whitlock is kidnapped, it's up to Eddie to rescue with the aid of one of the studio's biggest star, singing cowboy (Alden Ehrenrech) Hobie Doyle. "Hail, Caesar!" Website

What to Watch For:  The film is written and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen and stars Scarlet Johansson, Channing Tatum, Ralph Fiennes, Tilda Swinton, Frances McDormand.

Word on the Street:  The Coen's have been talking about making this film since 2004.

My Take:  I always love a Coen comedy.

1:00 pm

"No Small Affair"  (1984)  A 16-year-old teenager (Jon Cryer) takes a picture (without her knowledge) of a lounge singer (Demi Moore). Even though he doesn't know her, he decides to start an ad campaign to promote her singing career.

3:00 pm

"The Pink Panther 2"  (2009)  Inspector Clouseau (Steve Martin) is back, and he is teaming up with a squad of International detectives who are just as bad at their jobs as he is. They are on a mission to stop a globe-trotting thief who been stealing some of the world's most famous historical artifacts.

 

Sunday

1:00 pm

"Planet of the Apes"  (2001)  An Air Force astronaut (Mark Wahlberg) crash-lands on a planet. It turns out the planet is ruled by talking apes the dominated and enslave humans.

3:00 pm
