A group of high school outcasts discover an alien spaceship, where inside they are given superpowers and dubbed the "Power Rangers." What to Watch For: This is the third film of the series, having been based on the 1993 TV series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Word on the Street: This is the first Power Rangers movie to receive a PG-13 rating.

My Take: It will be interesting to see how this film does at the box office since it is the first Power Rangers movie to come out in 20 years.

CHIPS (2017)

The adventures of two California Highway Patrol motorcycle officers (Dax Shepard, Michael Pena) as they make their way around the freeways of Los Angeles. CHIPS Website

What to Watch For: Star of the film, Dax Shepard also wrote and directed the film.

Word on the Street: The movie is based on the 70s TV show of the same name. Not once in the six years that it was on TV did the officers ever use their guns.

My Take: It will be interesting to see this film, which has been in the planning stages since 2005.

Life (2017)

What to Watch For: The movie was the closing night film of the 2017 SXSW Film Festival.

Word on the Street: Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal headline the massive cast.

My Take: The director of this film, Daniel Espinosa, also directed the fascinating Safe House (2012).

Wilson (2017)

What to Watch For: Several scenes were filmed in a working correctional facility.

Word on the Street: The director of this film, Craig Johnson, also directed the award winning 2014 film The Skeleton Twins.

My Take: I am looking forward to this film because one of the stars of the film, Mary Lynn Rajskub, is one of my favorite actresses.

T2 Transpotting (2017)

What to Watch For: The first Trainspotting film in 1996 put writer/director Danny Boyle on the map.

Word on the Street: There is a David Bowie tribute in the film.

My Take: It will be interesting revisiting these iconic characters.

What to Watch For: The director of the film, Olivier Assayas, won Best Director at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival.

Word on the Street: Kristen Stewart was also the star of Assayas 2014 film Clouds of Sils Maria.

My Take: Kristen Stewart has developed into an extortionary access.

What to Watch For: The film is a love letter to Austin, the city that writer/director Terrence Malick calls home.

Word on the Street: All-star cast includes Ryan Gosling, Rooney Mara, Michael Fassbender, Natalie Portman, Holly Hunter and Cate Blanchett.

My Take: It will be interesting to see this film, as Malick has been editing the film since 2012.

Word on the Street: The film has won a number of awards at film festivals around the world.

My Take: I am always up for a good horror film.
