Word on the Street: The film has gone through several title changes including "Let it Snow" and "The Most Wonderful Time."
My Take: Looks like Christmas is coming a little early to the theatres.
"The 33" (2015)
Based on a true event, thirty three miners are trapped underground in a mine for sixty nine days with almost no food or water. The world watches as a rescue attempt does the impossible. "The 33" Website
What to Watch For: The film stars John Goodman, Diane Keaton, Amanda Seyfried, Alan Arkin, Olivia Wilde, and Marisa Tomei.
Word on the Street: One of the real Chilean miners, Mario Sepulveda, was hired to supervise the extras for the movie.
My Take: I find it interesting that some of the film was shot at the actual mine site.
"My All-American" (2015)

What to Watch For: Writer / Director Angelo Pizzo wrote two other classic sports films, "Hoosiers" (1986) and "Rudy" (1993).
Word on the Street: The film was shot in Austin, Texas where The University of Texas is located.
My Take: This is a film about my alma mater, so you know I will see it.

What to Watch For: The film is directed by Tom McCarthy (Win Win, The Station Agent), and the cast includes Rachel McAdams, Mark Ruffalo, Michael Keaton, Liev Schreiber, Stanley Tucci and Jamey Sheridan.
Word on the Street: The film has won numerous awards at film festivals such as the Toronto International Film Festival and the Mill Valley Film Festival.
My Take: I think this could be a candidate for Best Picture.
"Labyrinth of Lies" (2014)
A young and determined public prosecutor (Alexander Fehling) decides against the wishes of his colleagues to prosecute a former Auschwitz camp commander in a country that just wants to forget its past. "Labyrinth of Lies" Website
What to Watch For: The film has been selected to represent Germany for the Foreign Language Academy Award.
Word on the Street: Fehling is one of Germany's up-and-coming stars.
My Take: The film was quickly bought by Sony Pictures Classics after it wowed audiences at the 2014 Toronto Film Festival.
"Jafar Panahi's Taxi" (2015)
Jafar Panahi is a director living in Iran, where he is banned by the government from making movies. So what does he do? He installs cameras in his taxi and drives around the city to secretly make a movie about social changes in Iran. "Jafar Panahi's Taxi" Website
What to Watch For: This documentary won two awards at the 2015 Berlin International Film Festival, including the Golden Berlin Bear.
Word on the Street: Panahi has shot films in Iran since his banning. His movie, "This is Not a Film" (2011), was smuggled out of Iran on a USB stick hidden inside a cake.
My Take: I am looking forward to seeing this film. "This is Not a Film" was one of my favorite films from 2013 and was nominated for three awards by the Georgia Film Critics Association.
