From the Producers of 300 comes a story of a mad king (played by Mickey Rourke) who is blazing a trail of death and destruction upon ancient Greece. He is searching for a legendary weapon that could ultimately cause the end of mankind. In parallel, a young stone mason (Henry Cavill) seeks to avenge the death of his mother, with the help of a priestess (Freida Pinto) and a slave (Stephen Dorff). Can the stone mason defeat the mad king and his army? Immortals website

What to Watch For: Will the film make a star of the relatively unknown, Cavill, as 300 did with Gerald Butler?

Word on the Street: Director Tarsem Singh (The Cell) is known for creating visually stunning films, and this one follows his talented pattern.

J. Edgar

Clint Eastwood directs this film about J. Edgar Hoover (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) who took the F.B.I. from a weak, powerless agency to one of the great law enforcement organizations. Hoover was a man who used his knowledge and control, not only for crime fighting, but also to stay in power. While he held many secrets about powerful officials, he also had a secret of his own that could have destroyed everything he had ever worked for. J Edgar website

What to Watch For: Since screenwriter Dustin Lance Black experience includes penning the bio-pic Milk, will he be able to tell a story of a legendary man who was in power for more than 50 years?

Word on the Street: While Leonardo DiCaprio will almost certainly get an Oscar nomination for this film, Naomi Watts, as Hoover's private secretary, is really getting the critics talking.

Jack and Jill

Adam Sandler stars in this comedy about a family man who gets a Thanksgiving visit from his needy twin sister (also played by Adam Sandler). Will his home and family survive the holidays? Jack and Jill website

What to Watch For:  Dana Carvey (Wayne's World) makes his first film appearance in 9 years.

Word on the Street:  Brought to you by the same team that made Grown Ups and Don't Mess with the Zohan, if you liked those films, you'll like this one.

Like Crazy

A British college student (played by Felicity Jones) is taking classes in the U.S. and falls in love with an American student (played by Anton Yechin). She is supposed to return to Britain, as her visa expires, but doesn't want to leave an intriguing relationship that has only just begun. Jones' character eventually gets deported, though, because she chooses to stay. Can the new love survive the separation and the fact that she may never be able to come to America again? Like Crazy website

What to Watch For:  This is the star-crossed love story that Art House audiences love to see, so it may be in the theatres for quite awhile.

Word on the Street:  Mostly known for her work on British T.V. shows, Jones is getting a lot of film roles lately due to her outstanding work in this film.

If you can't make it to the theatre, then stay at home and watch movies on CW69 this weekend:
