Horrible Bosses 2 (2014)
Dale (Charlie Day), Kurt (Jason Sudeikis) and Nick (Jason Bateman) have decided to be their own boss and start up a company to manufacture the "Shower Buddy." A father (Christoph Waltz) and son (Chris Pine) steal the boy's idea and look like they will get away with it. The guys come up with a plan to save their company, kidnap the son and hold him for ransom. What could go wrong? "Horrible Bosses 2" Website
What to Watch For: Writer / director Sean Anders, wrote, " Hot Tub Time Machine" (2010) and "We're the Millers" (2013).
Word on the Street: I hear that Jamie Foxx's role is much bigger than his role in the first film.
My Take: I thought the best thing about the first film was the bosses, so I look forward to seeing Jennifer Aniston and Kevin Spacey in their roles.
"Penguins of Madagascar" (2014)
Skipper (Tom McGrath), Kowalski (Chris Miller), Rico (Conrad Vernon) and Private (Christopher Knights) are out to stop the evil Dr. Octavius Brine (John Malkovich) from taking all the Penguins out of zoos. Skipper comes up with a plan that just might work if the undercover organization, The North Wind, comes to their aid. "Penguins of Madagascar" Website
What to Watch For: With a supporting cast of Benedict Cumberbatch, Ken Jeong, and Andy Richter, this film has got to be good.
Word on the Street: I hear there is a special appearance of a film legend in the movie.
My Take: The Penguins have always been my favorites out of the "Madagascar" film series.
As the Allies march towards Paris in 1944, Hitler wants Paris not to fall into enemy's hands. He has given the order to General Dietrich von Choltitz (Niels Arestrup) that if he leaves Paris, it should be in rubble. The Swedish Consul General Raoul Nordling (Andre Dussollier) finds out that mines have been planted on all the important French landmarks (such as the Eiffel Tower) and most of the bridges in the city. Nordling's plan is to talk the General out of blowing up Paris. "Diplomacy" Website
What to Watch For: The film has won awards at film festivals, and the director Volker Schlondorff is one of Germany's greatest directors.
Word on the Street: American audiences will know Niels Arestrup from his roles in "War Horse" (2011) and "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly" (2007).
My Take: There was an international film released in 1966 called, "Is Paris Burning?" that covered some of this story.
If you can't make it to the theatre this weekend, then stay at home and watch movies on CW Atlanta.
"Working Girl" (1988) Tess McGill (Melanie Griffith) has decided to take charge of her life. She breaks up with her boyfriend and gets a new job as a secretary to a high profile boss (Sigourney Weaver). When her boss is hurt in a skiing accident, Tess takes over a deal with the help of a handsome broker (Harrison Ford).
"Rudy" (1993) Rudy's lifelong dream is to play football for Notre Dame, but all his life Rudy has been told he is too small to be playing football, much less for the Fighting Irish. Will having determination and heart be enough for Rudy to achieve his dream?
