Hitchcock (2012)

Alfred Hitchcock (Anthony Hopkins) feels that at 60 years old, he is unappreciated and that others think of him as over-the-hill. So, Hitchcock decides to make a movie using his own money - a little film called, "Psycho." Hitchcock Website

What to Watch For: Anthony Hopkins is sure to get an Academy Award nomination for this performance.

Word on the Street: Helen Mirren, who plays Hitchcock's wife, Alma, is getting a lot of talk that she might also get a nomination.

My Take: While the film does show the making of "Psycho," it really is a love story between the director and his wife.

The Collection (2012)

Arkin (Josh Stewart) is the only person to escape from a serial killer named, "The Collector." The Collector likes to entrap his victims and then take them to maze-like buildings, full of deadly traps. Now, a young woman named, Elena (Emma Fitzpatrick), has been kidnapped, and it's up to Arkin to rescue her. The Collection Website

What to Watch For: A sequel to the 2009 hit, "The Collector," this film has the same director/writers which gives fans of the first film hope that the second film will be just as scary.

Word on the Street: The 2009 film was originally pitched as a prequel to the "Saw" films, but fans feel that this series is far more intelligent and inventive.

My Take: Only question is if the holiday season is the right time for a horror pic.

Killing Them Softly (2012)

Three young men decide to make some easy money so they hold up a poker game. The problem is that it is a Mob-protected game and now Jackie Cogan (Brad Pitt) has been sent to find the men and kill them. Killing Them Softly Website

What to Watch For: Great cast in this film, headlined by Pitt, includes James Gandolfini, Ray Liotta and Sam Shepard.

Word on the Street: The film is said to be extremely violent, hence it's R-rating.

My Take: This just might get Pitt another Oscar nomination.
