"Fast & Furious 6" (2013)

Fast & Furious 6

Agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) has decided that, if you can't beat them, join them, so he enlists Dominic (Vin Diesel), Walker (Brian O'Conner), and the rest of the team to help him catch criminals who are led by a former Special Ops man named, Owen Shaw(Luke Evans).  Website

What to Watch For: The addition of Dwayne Johnson to this franchise has just made it that much stronger at the box office.

Word on the Street: The fight sequence between Gina Carano, a former MMA fighter, and Michelle Rodriquez, who learned to fight for the film, Girlfight (2000), is said to be worth the price of admission.

My Take: Director Justin Lin has gotten better at the action sequences with every "Fast" movie, so let's hope he has hit his stride with this one.

"The Hangover Part III" (2013)

The Hangover Part III

The Wolf Pack (Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis) is back and though there isn't a bachelor party or a wedding, the guys are going on a road trip to the one place where they said they would never go back - Las Vegas. Website

What to Watch For: The producers have always thought this film series would be a trilogy, so the question is, how will they end it?

Word on the Street: Ken Jeong's part as the mischievous Leslie Chow was greatly expanded for this film.

My Take: Any film where both John Goodman and Melissa McCarthy make an appearance is one that I will give a chance.

"Epic" (2013)

M.K. (Amanda Seyfried) has moved to the country to live with her father, Professor Bomba (Jason Sudeikis), after the death of her mother. Her father believes that the woods are inhabited by some sort of little beings that move too fast for humans to see. To her utter amazement, M.K. discovers that her father is right.  There is a race of tiny warriors who defend the forest and she must join the fight. Website

What to Watch For: Besides Seyfried and Sudeikis, the cast for this animated film includes Josh Hutcherson, Colin Farrell, Beyonce Knowles and Christoph Waltz.

Word on the Street: Aziz Ansari and Chris O'Dowd are said to steal the movie as the comic pair of a slug and a snail.

My Take: Director of the film, Chris Wedge, has shown he has an eye for good animation, as he is one of the team behind the Ice Age films.

"Love is All You Need" (2013)

For Ida (Trine Dyrholm), life has not been going so well. She is just getting over a battle with cancer, her son is about to shipped overseas with the military, and she finds out her husband of many years is having an affair with a younger woman. On top of this, she must travel to Italy to see her only daughter get married. Now she meets the father of the groom, Philip (Pierce Brosnan), a man who seems to be mad at everyone and everything. With romance in the air, will Ida find it in Italy? Website

What to Watch For: There aren't a lot of romantic dramas made for adults, but last year's success of "Quartet" and "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" show that these kind of films can succeed at the box office.

Word on the Street: Denmark actress Trine Dyrholm as Ida is getting rave reviews from critics and has already won some film festival awards for her role in this film.

My Take: I've always been a big fan of Pierce Brosnan, so you can bet I will take in this film.

If you can't go to the theatre this weekend, stay at home and watch movies on CW69.
