What to Watch For: This is an strong cast: Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell and Toby Kebbell.
Word on the Street: This is a reboot of the Fantastic Four story, starting from the beginning.
My Take: Miles Teller is one of my favorite young actors.
"Ricki and the Flash" (2015)
Ricki (Meryl Streep) gave up everything, including her family, for the rock-and-roll dream. Now she is returning to try and make things right with her family. "Ricki and the Flash" Website
What to Watch For: Mamie Gummer, Streep's real-life daughter, plays Ricki's troubled daughter.
Word on the Street: The film comes from Oscar-winning director Jonathan Demme and Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody.
My Take: Any time I can hear Meryl Streep sing is a good thing for me.
"Shaun the Sheep Movie" (2015)
Shaun the sheep (Justin Fletcher) decides to shake things up and take the flock to the big city. That was a big mistake, and now it's time to get back to the country. "Shaun the Sheep Movie" Website
What to Watch For: The film is based on a long-running TV show.
Word on the Street: The film is produced by Aardman Animations which brought us the "Wallace and Gromit" series.
My Take: "Shaun the Sheep Movie" is getting 100% with 39 critics on Rottentomatoes.com.
"Dark Places" (2015)
Libby (Charlize Theron) was only seven years old when her family was brutally murdered in their Kansas farmhouse. Now it's twenty-five years later, and she is revisiting the scene of the crime. "Dark Places" Website
What to Watch For: This cast includes Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Christina Hendricks, Tye Sheridan, and Chloe Grace Moretz.
Word on the Street: The film is directed by Gilles Paquet-Brenner, who directed the well-received 2010 film, "Sarah's Key."
My Take: I always love to watch Theron up on the screen.
"The Gift" (2015)
Simon (Jason Bateman) and Robyn (Rebecca Hall) are a married couple whose life is going great. Then, in walks Gordo (Joel Edgerton), an old high school classmate who starts sending Simon mysterious gifts that may unlock the past that he doesn't want to revisit. "The Gift" Website
What to Watch For: Joel Edgerton is making his directorial debut. He also wrote the script.
Word on the Street: The film has been very creative with a promotional push using both Twitter and Periscope.
My Take: I have been a big fan of Rebecca Hall since the 2008 Woody Allen film, "Vicky Cristina Barcelona."
"The Look of Silence" (2014)
Documentary about a family who survived the genocide in Indonesia and who confront the men who killed one of their brothers. "The Look of Silence" Website
What to Watch For: The film is a sequel to the 2012 Oscar nominated film, "The Act of Killing."
Word on the Street: The films were conceived as a two-part project by the director Joshua Oppenheimer.
My Take: I am anxious to see this film as it has been winning a fist-full of awards on the Film Festival circuit.
"The Third Man" (1949)
Holly Martins (Joseph Cotton) is American novelist who arrives in post-war Vienna to take a job from a friend (Orson Welles). When Holly arrives he discovers that his friend has been killed in a car accident. Things don't add up, and Holly suspects foul play. What to Watch For: The film has been digitally restored from a fine grain master positive struck from the original negative.
Word on the Street: Many critics feel this is one of the best films of all time. The film was nominated for two Oscars and won for Best Cinematography, Black-and-White.
My Take: Don't miss this opportunity to see this great film on the big screen.
