Plant-Based Protein Reduces Heart Disease Death Risk

A plant-rich diet high in protein can reduce your risk of death from heart disease by 10%. The heart-healthy news was published Monday by JAMA Internal Medicine. In the study, researchers substituted plant-based protein sources for eggs. They found the switch reduced risk for death from heart disease by more than 20%. Replacing red meat with plant-based proteins also reduced the risk of heart disease death by up to 15%.
