Katy Perry & John Mayer Split Up

It's over for Katy Perry and John Mayer. A close source to the duo told E! News Perry broke things off with Mayer within the last few days. They fooled us; here we were planning for an engagement announcement.

Are you as shocked as I am? Obviously, there were no signs pointing to heartbreak. However, he was absent from the singer's recent trip to London and Milan.

I'm still surprised. It was just yesterday that Mayer declared his love to the "Dark Horse" singer onstage and Perry was gushing to news sources on her affection for Mayer.

The two became at the center of Hollywood's hottest couple infatuation quickly and not to mention the engagement rumors that have been flying around for days.  I guess that shimmering diamond we caught on Perry's hand was only for style.

They recently collaborated on the song "Who You Love," off of Mayer's latest album, Paradise Valley. Perry even gave sweet words regarding their collaboration.

She told E! News:

"I've been such a fan, I think he's so incredibly talented and gifted and a genius songwriter. So to be a part of anything he was doing was just natural."
