Jon Chuckery: Top 5 QBs In The SEC West
Last week we gave you the rankings of the SEC East QBs thus far, so this week without surprise I rank the SEC West QBs...
7. Anthony Jennings/Brandon Harris – LSU
Luckily for LSU QBs the East has been so bad its allowed them to look better in the stats than they are. They throw the ball fewer times than any team in the Conference and are the only team with a below 50% completion percentage
6. Brandon Allen – Arkansas
Putting Allen 6th is as much the fact somebody had to be here as it is a reflection of how he's played. He's been 3-1 TD/INT rate which is good but he's middle of the pack on everything else. He's a guy who is improving every year and might be a sleeper in the SEC next year.

5. Kenny Hill/Kyle Allen - Texas A&M
Hill came out of the box as a Heisman candidate with his 511 yds Wk 1 against So Carolina but as the competition got tougher the results faded to where after a suspension he was replaced by Allen. It's a pass happy offense that will always put up stats but they've been arguably the most overrated team in the SEC.
4. Bo Wallace – Mississippi
When you're a Senior QB in the SEC and you still have people labeling you "Good Bo" or "Bad Bo" that's not good. Wallace has had good moments but still has those times when he just can't get his team over the hump into that next level as many projected of him and his team. Good numbers to beat Alabama but turnovers that helped his team lose to LSU and Auburn…Yep…Good Bo…Bad Bo!
3. Nick Marshall – Auburn
People thought with Marshall coming back (the 1st time Gus Malzahn has coached a returning QB) Auburn's offense would be even more unstoppable than the year before. Marshall has still at times been very good but his numbers are flat year over year and had a key turnover against Texas A&M that cost them the game.
2. Blake Sims – Alabama
The pleasant surprise of the year in the SEC. Many figured FSU transfer Jacob Coker would be the starter but players rallied around Sims and he's gotten better as the season has worn on. He tied for fewest INTs in the Conference and has had an outstanding 6-1 TD/INT rate. Throwing to the best WR in America always helps but give Sims credit as over the last weeks he's made plays with his arm AND legs to put Alabama once again in the National Title hunt.
1. Dak Prescott – Mississippi State
If you listen to me regularly then this "I told you so" moment won't be so new…I told you back in July that Prescott would be at least the 2nd best QB in the Conference after showing flashes last year of how good his play was. Prescott has helped bring MS St into the National Title hunt by scoring more TDs than any player in the Conference. While his play the last few weeks has regressed with an increase in TOs there's no denying that overall he's been the best QB in the SEC and a potential Heisman invite.
