John Michaels: 'How can the Jackets beat Clemson?' | Preview Of Tonight's Game

Tonight Georgia Tech looks to improve on a 3-0 start with a big game at Bobby Dodd vs Clemson. Fresh off an easy victory over Vanderbilt, Tech looks to ride a wave of emotion in what promises to be a jacked up crowd to try and upset a team who hasn't yet lived up to preseason billing.

How can the Jackets win?

1. Avoid negative plays... Brent Venables has a defense that prides itself on negative plays. They have accumulated over 500 TFLs in his time as the DC at Clemson. GT must get positive 1st down yards with dives and other plays to stay in front of the chains.

2. Pop some big plays... Tech is notorious for popping a few 20 plus plays offensively per game. To beat an aggressive defense GT will need Justin Thomas to facilitate the ball to playmakers. GT needs to hit 5 or more to win in my opinion.

3. Contain Watson... Deshaun Watson has not looked Heisman like in the 1st 3 games. GT needs to make him look like Auburn did in week 1, which means under 300 through the air, and less than 50 on the ground.

Paul Johnson hasn't lost to Clemson at home since taking over at Georgia Tech and this is a huge opportunity to wash away the stench of a 3-9 season.

My prediction. GT stays close until the 4th Quarter, and Clemson pulls away. Clemson 31-21.
