Injury Report: Lucky Number 7 For Falcons?
By Matthew Asher
Hopefully for Falcons, seven will be a lucky number this week as that many players are listed on the current injury report. Like last week, one player is listed as out while the other six are all listed as probable. Baltimore has nine players listed this week. Two Ravens are listed as out, two are doubtful and three are probable with two final players having their status currently unknown.
Injured Falcons
Wide receiver Harry Douglas (foot) is listed as out for the second straight week. Just like the week before, Douglas didn’t participate in a single practice this entire week. Eric Weems and Freddie Martino are listed as Douglas’ backups this week.
For the final six probable Falcons, the injuries are split down the middle with both the offense and defense having three players listed. On the offensive side, starting guard Justin Blalock (back) and wide receivers Devin Hester (hamstring) and Julio Jones (ankle) fill out the list. All three men were limited in practice Wednesday. Blalock was able to fully participate both Thursday and Friday. Hester and Jones were both limited on Thursday but went back to full reps on Friday. James Stone is listed as Blalock’s replacement if he’s unable to play on Sunday.
For the Falcons defense all three men have the same listed knee injury. Defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux (knee) and linebackers Prince Shembo (knee) and Nate Stupar (knee) finish the list for the Falcons. Just like the offensive players, all three men were limited on Wednesday. Babineaux and Stupar were able to fully practice both Thursday and Friday while Shembo was limited on Thursday before going back to full participation on Friday.
Baltimore Injuries
The Baltimore injury list is a little more confusing than Atlanta’s list. Two Ravens don’t have an official game status and two players don’t have injuries listed, but do have an official game status.
As far as the two Baltimore players listed as out, that would be defensive end Christo Bilukidi (ankle) and defensive lineman Chris Canty (wrist). Neither man participated in practice this week. The two Ravens listed as doubtful are both offensive linemen. Tackle Eugene Monroe (knee) and guard/tackle Kelechi Osemele (knee) were both limited in practice on Thursday. Monroe didn’t participate in practice either Wednesday or Friday and Osemele was limited on Wednesday but didn’t practice on Friday as well.
The three Ravens listed as probable are wide receiver Marlon Brown (pelvis), tight end Owen Daniels and linebacker Daryl Smith. Neither Daniels nor Smith have their injury listed and didn’t participate in practice on Thursday but did go back to full participation on Friday. Brown was able to fully practice all week.
The final two Ravens don’t have an official game status. Wide receiver Kamar Aiken (concussion) and defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan (knee) both fully participated in Friday’s practice. Jernigan fully participated the entire week while Aiken was limited both Wednesday and Thursday.
Kickoff for the game is scheduled for 1 pm ET. #RiseUp
