Family Law - 'Blame it on the mother'

HOPE – Abigail (Jewel Staite, "Firefly," "The L.A. Complex") and Daniel (Zach Smadu, "Cardinal") represent Trish and Kim, two sisters who are being sued by their estranged mother for parental support. To win their case, the lawyers must prove that Trish and Kim's estrangement from their mother is due to her emotional abuse. Surprisingly, Abigail finds herself identifying with their imperfect mother because she has been such an imperfect one herself. Meanwhile, Daniel debates leaving Svensson for a rival firm; Lucy (Genelle Williams, "The Expanse") is melancholic as her deceased mother's birthday approaches; and Harry (Victor Garber, "DC's Legends of Tomorrow," "Alias") goes viral after making a public gaffe that is #problematic. And Abigail is hopeful when Frank (guest star Luke Camilleri "The Magician") agrees to adjust both their custody arrangement, and their living situation. Lauren Holly also stars. The episode was written by Sarah Dodd and directed by Andy Mikita (#109). Original airdate 12/4/2022.
