College Park Skyhawks Notch First Win Of The Season In Long Island

UNIONDALE, N.Y. (CW69 News at 10) -- The College Park Skyhawks landed its first win of the season at the hands of the Long Island Nets, 117-98 in NBA G-League action on Thursday night.

Two-way guard Sharife Cooper notched a season-high 33 points following a 26-point performance in his last game for the Skyhawks on Dec. 3 against the Westchester Knicks.

The Skyhawks fell behind early in the first quarter, but regained the lead before the end of the period, 21-20, and never looked back. Their biggest lead during the game was 21 points.

Atlanta Hawks assignment players Jalen Johnson -- with 23 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists; and Onyeka Okongwu -- with 10 points and 15 rebounds; added to a solid set of statistics for the Skyhawks.

Okongwu was playing his first game following off-season shoulder surgery.
