Best Rainy Day Bars In Atlanta

If you have lived in Atlanta for any period of time, you know the traffic can be a nightmare. Add rain into the equation and it's a mess you will want to avoid at all costs. When it's raining, many people decide to delay their trip home and stop off for a drink and a quick bite to eat. Maybe you walk to and from the office, so when that monsoon hits, you might want to duck into a neighborhood bar to wait the rain out and dry off. If rainy days and Mondays get you down, here are some great "rainy day" bars in the Atlanta area.

56 E. Andrews Drive N.W.
Atlanta, GA 30305
(678) 244-3601

The Stillhouse is a great neighborhood bar in East Andrews that puts out the welcome mat for newcomers. If beautifully crafted burger and moonshine are your specialty, this is your place, Dine inside, or on the terrace when it isn't raining and enjoy the decor which includes prints of stills, bootleggers, and moonshiners. You don't come to Stillhouse without ordering a burger, so think out of the box and try their PB&J Burger. Pimento cheese fans will love the Augusta Burger. Go easy but indulge in some of their "shine." The Carolina Mule is perfect for that rainy afternoon.

Seven Lamps
3400 Around Lenox Road
Atlanta, GA 30326
(404) 467-8950

Caught in that Lenox Mall traffic? You might want to dive in to Seven Lamps for a drink and a chance to catch your breath. Start out with their famous oysters or relax with a sweet potato soup. The Italian selections like gnocchi and tortellini might surprise you on a rainy day as you might feel like you are dining with friend in a small Italian village. It doesn't have to be raining to enjoy a couple hours at Seven Lamps, but if you stuck in Buckhead, give it a try.

Rojo Cocina Mexicana
885 Woodstock Road
Roswell, GA 30075
(770) 820-0111

It's not a stretch to say you might be caught in traffic on Holcomb Bridge Road or Woodstock Road in Roswell. The situation only gets worse when it rains. You might as well stop into Rojo Cocina Mexicana and experience some of the best Mexican food in the area as well as anything from their fabulous bar. With a friendly wait staff and menu items like fresh guacamole and fish tacos, you won't go hungry. Try the flan for dessert and get adventurous with one of their special margaritas.

Cook Hall
3377 Peachtree Road N.E.
Atlanta, GA 30326
(404) 523-3600

Located right in the W Hotel in Buckhead, Cook Hall is a world class bar and restaurant that is welcoming, yet trendy. It's rustic charm will draw you in out of the inclement weather, but the fresh salads and entrees like crispy organic chicken or the short rib French dip will make your pull up a chair and stay for a while. Cook Hall is a gastropub located conveniently in the W Hotel.

Park Bar
150 Walton St.
Atlanta, GA 30303
(404) 524-0444

Park Bar in downtown is the one place to want to drop in on when it's a rainy and ugly day. When you walk in the door, your spirits will be brightened. Park Bar is the perfect place to hang before and after big events in Downtown Atlanta, but it's also a great sports bar. I haven't even mentioned the bourbon as of yet. On the menu, don't pass on the steak sandwich or any of the chicken dishes. Get out of the muck and pop into Park Bar.
