When the temperatures begin to soar in Atlanta, families look for outdoor adventures to ditch the confines of their house after a long winter inside. Mini golf offers inexpensive fun for the whole family. Choose from five of Atlanta's best mini golf courses for a guaranteed good time.

If you've never visited Malibu Grand Prix, you'll definitely want to give it a whirl. Two miniature golf courses feature lush greens, peaceful water features and even wacky windmills for added challenges. Not only does Malibu Grand Prix promise a great game of putt-putt, it also features go-carts, batting cages, bumper boats and a full arcade. Prices vary for additional activities, but Malibu's value days include a full day of golfing, go-carts and bumper boats for one price. Plan at least a half of a day here to take everything in.

This newly redesigned mini golf course is hugely popular for its pirate theme, ship, cascading waterfalls, meandering streams and beautiful scenery. All 27 holes are designed for kids of all ages, and the prices are reasonable for a family sized adventure. Parents will appreciate the cleanliness, attention to detail and excellent customer service when planning the perfect birthday party or family game night.

This indoor golf course takes the monster theme to the extreme but isn't too scary for little kids. All 18 holes are challenging and glow in the dark. With animated props at every turn and a live DJ spinning tunes, this indoor adventure is a hit with kids and adults alike. An on-site arcade and private rooms make Monster Mini Golf not only a fun family escape, but also an excellent choice for parties.

Adventure Golf at Stone Mountain Park may not be the most technologically advanced, but it is certainly one of the most serene putt-putt courses in Atlanta. Nestled amongst soaring pines, this 18-hole course has a charming locomotive theme,and its train-inspired elements blend perfectly with the natural setting. Challenging features include a spurting water tower, a jumble of broken tracks and a dark tunnel encounter with an oncoming train. It's good, clean outdoor fun for the entire family. While at the Park, be sure to check out other family friendly attractions, including the Summit Skyride, Scenic Railroad, Ride The Ducks, The Great Barn, and the Antebellum Plantation and Farmyard.

Dixieland Amusement Park is located in South Atlanta and it's definitely worth the drive if you live on the north side of town. The park offers two 18-hole miniature golf courses: Lakeside and Riverwalk. Both feature relaxing water features, but challenging obstacles. Like Malibu Grand Prix, Dixieland offers much more than just putt-putt. Kids also love the Screaming Eagle Coaster, The Great Plunge and five other fun rides. An all-in-one pass also includes admission to bumper boats and a junior racetrack. If you're looking for an outdoor family adventure, Dixieland is the place.
