Best Kid-Friendly Haunted Houses Near Atlanta

For those families that would like to experience ghouls, goblins, monsters or zombies this Halloween season, the Atlanta area has several haunted-house attractions that are guaranteed to freak you out!

This haunted house prides itself on bringing many urban legends and myths to life for its guests. Visitors will take the ride of their life down 13 floors on an antiquated elevator. As an extra thrill, 13 Stories Haunted House has an additional attraction, the Big Top Secret in 3D haunt. This haunted project has deceiving views from the outside and it must be viewed in 3D to truly understand what goes on inside. Age disclaimer: There is no minimum age requirement; 13 Stories advises that parents/guardians use their own discretion.

Fear the Woods has quite a few spooky attractions including the Haunted Hayride which displays what goes on at the farm after hours and why the farmer does not work after the sun goes down. For those that dare, there is also the Haunted Barn. For the more 'faint of heart' and fun for the whole family, check out the reptile exhibit. It is crawling with many exotic reptiles and arachnids. There is also a jumping pillow attraction and pumpkin cannons. Age disclaimer: There is no minimum age requirement but Fear of the Woods discourages small children from attending.

Horror Hill Haunted Trails

Horror Hill, initially a simple trail of 100-150 feet, has been extended to four main haunted attractions on several acres of land. Other event features are the Vertigo Haunted Trails, The Mortuary and Clown Haus 3D. Here you will see fully masked monsters and utilization of state-of-the-art technology and equipment for special effects. For an added layer of fun and excitement, guests can camp out at Horror Hill overnight. For patrons that are under 18 years old, a parent/guardian must accompany them or complete a camp form at the location with proper state identification. Age disclaimer: There is no minimum age requirement. Horror Hill advises that parents/guardians use their own discretion. Keep in mind that there are very dark conditions, loud music, smoke and scary effects of all kinds.

At the Haunted Museum, guests will experience the Kennesaw Asylum where patrons' worst fears come to life. The characters run rampant combined with a night filled with terrifying treats. In addition to the frights and scares, the entire family can enjoy a pumpkin trail, pony rides, a petting zoo, a costume contest, face painting and more. Age disclaimer: For the Haunted Museum, it is recommended that guests be ages 13 and older.

This list would not be complete without mentioning Netherworld, voted one of the scariest haunted houses in America. One haunted attraction at Netherworld is The Banshee which has several new features for 2012 including the massive bloody crawling eye, the house of the dead, the 21-foot-tall tree beast, the moray pits and more. An additional attraction is the The Hive which also features new adventures for 2012 such as the flesh shredder, giant spiders, live arthropods, attacking maggots, the hideous human blob and even more unsettling nightmares come to life. Age disclaimer: Netherworld is not recommended for children under the age of 12 years old.
