Best Ice Cream Sundaes In Atlanta

It just isn't summer without an ice cream sundae or two, right? Atlanta has far more to offer than your standard chain ice cream and yogurt shops. Consider a more high-end option, like Morelli's or Kilwins. If you really want a treat, head to Virginia Highlands for Paolo's Gelato, especially for the floral blends offered on weekends. Any of these places will have you licking your spoon, that's for sure!

Morelli's Gourmet Ice Cream and Desserts
749 Moreland Ave. S.E.
Atlanta, GA 30316
(404) 622-0210

Morelli's has a well-deserved reputation for serving some of Atlanta's yummiest and fanciest ice cream, so it is a natural first stop on your summer ice cream tour. Check out its Facebook page to see a listing of the flavors available each day at the different locations around Atlanta. If you are bringing the kids, consider the Dunwoody location, which is inside of a Farm Burger. From the traditional flavors like mint chocolate chip to more exotic fare like lemon blueberry pie and Brooklyn cheesecake, Morelli's has all of your sweet needs covered.

Jeni's Westside Provisions
1198 Howell Mill Road
Atlanta, GA 30318

Jeni's is one of Atlanta's favorite ice cream shops, and the sundae options include a small for $7 or a trio for $8. The sundaes come with ice cream, Jeni's trademark gravel (in Chocolate Blackout or Salty Graham flavors) and unlimited accoutrements. There are all of the standard flavors and some local favorites like Savannah Buttermint, Wildberry Lavender and Brambleberry Crisp. The shop is open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day.

Paolo's Gelato
1025 Virginia Ave. N.E.
Atlanta, GA 30306

Paolo's Gelato is hands down the best sweet treat in Atlanta. Founded by Paolo Dall Zorza, a native of Treviso, Italy, this tiny spot in Virginia Highlands serves authentic Italian gelato in a wide range of yummy flavors. If you want a truly fantastic sundae, or some freshly filled cannoli, this is the spot. On the weekends, the flavor selections include at least one dreamy, unique flower-based concoction, like violet.
