Word on the Street: Neei Sethi got the role of Mowgli after more than a thousand kids were auctioned for the part.
My Take: The Walt Disney film from 1967 is one of my favorite childhood films.
"Barbershop: The Next Cut" (2016)
When the surrounding community seems to be falling apart, the crew at the barbershop takes a stand to try and make things better again. "Barbershop: The Next Cut" Website
What to Watch For: While the film is about Chicago, the film was shot in the Atlanta area.
Word on the Street: The film is the fourth in the Barbershop series, which includes the spin-off, "Beauty Shop" (2005).
My Take: It's always nice to see Eve up on the screen.
"Criminal" (2016)
The memories and skills of a dead CIA agent are implanted into a career criminal, Jericho Stewart (Kevin Costner), to complete a mission. "Criminal" Website
What to Watch For: Hot off her appearance as Wonder Woman in Batman v. Superman (2016), Gal Gadot plays Stewart's wife.
Word on the Street: The film has an outstanding cast including Tommy Lee Jones, Gary Oldman, Alice Eve and Ryan Reynolds.
My Take: I love that Kevin Costner is back to making movies.
"The First Monday in May" (2016)
This documentary follows the creation of The Metropolitan Museum of Art's most attended fashion exhibition in history, "China: Through The Looking Glass," an exploration of Chinese-inspired Western fashions by Costume Institute curator Andrew Bolton. "the First Monday in May" Website
What to Watch For: Appearing in the film are such fashion icons as Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour, filmmaker Wong Kar Wai and fashion designers Karl Lagerfeld, Jean Paul Gaultier and John Galliano, as well as a host of contemporary pop icons like Rihanna.
Word on the Street: The film was chosen to open the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival.
My Take: I really liked director Andrew Rossi's last film, the documentary "Page One."
