"Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones" (2014)
Jessie (Andre Jacobs) lives in an apartment, and a woman, who they call "the witch," dies in the apartment below. Jessie and his friends think they heard what happened when the woman died and decide to search her apartment. In their investigation, they find black magic items and mysterious VHS tapes. Jessie discovers a bite mark on his arm, and he soon learns that he has been marked for possession. Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones Website
What to Watch For: While not a sequel to the other Paranormal Activity (think of it as a spin-off), this film does use the "found footage" technique that the other films became famous for.
Word on the Street: The film is aimed at the Latino market, and it's hoped this film will "reinvigorate the franchise."
My Take: It's the only main-stream film to be released this week and could do big business with teens who are bored with the current film lineup.
If you can't make it to the theatre this weekend, stay at home and watch movies on CW69:
