In Northern Ireland for the Group of 8 summit, President Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron toured the Enniskillen Integrated Primary School, where they visited a classroom and joined in painting a school banner.

xPresident Obama said he and Russian President Vladimir Putin had "very productive" discussions about North Korea, and expressed some hope that as a result of Iran's recent election "we may be able to move forward on a dialogue that allows us to resolve the problems with Iran's nuclear program."

Despite tensions between the United States and Russia on how best to address the ongoing violence in Syria, President Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting declared their shared interests in "reducing violence" in the war-torn country, even while both acknowledged their differences on the issue.

Fifteen years after the Good Friday Agreement brought a tenuous end to decades of "Troubles" in Northern Ireland, President Obama came to its capital city to address young people at the Belfast Waterfront Hall, urging them to build on the "bravest" footsteps of their parents.

In his weekly address on Saturday, President Obama wished a "Happy Father's Day" to all the dads in America, saying, "There will never be a substitute for the love and support and, most importantly, the presence of a parent in a child's life, and in many ways, that's uniquely true for fathers."

In the weekly Republican address, Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., said, "The U.S. Department of Education has become so congested with federal mandates that it has actually become, in effect, a national school board," pushing for more local control and state-level flexibility on education reforms.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie joined former President Bill Clinton at a Clinton Global Initiative session in Chicago to discuss New Jersey's recovery from Superstorm Sandy. Christie discussed Army Corps of Engineers-designed dune systems and how they protected some shore communities from complete destruction.
