September 23, 2012 5:16 PM

Mitt Romney tells Scott Pelley the country's problem isn't that we're not taxing enough, but that "we're spending too much and we have too little growth."

The issue for me and my family is not "are we better off than 4 years ago", because we are the same..My husband still has his job and we have not had to go through a forclosure. However, my husband is employed by a major coal company. Our issue, of course, is Obama's stated dislike of the Coal industry and allowing the EPA to put so many restrictions on coal fired power plants. After complying with all of the EPA's guidelines in the past, such as installing wash plants at the coal mines, installing million dollar scrubbers at the power plants and mining what is referred to as green coal, the EPA is now setting even more restrictions and making these same power plants phase out coal. This will cripple the economy by raising our utility rates, it will also shut some plants down, hense job loss, shut down coal mines thoughout the country, which equals more job loss. America will also become even more dependent on the outratgous foreign oil. This is part of his "distribe the wealth agenda" or in lay man's terms socialism. In the after math of our BP oil disaster, he ordered the shut down of off shore drilling, and without approval sent billions of dollars to Brazil and other countries to start oil drilling. He supports alternative energy, which we all do, but again without approval spent billions of tax dollars to several companies in the US that quickly went bankrupt. More wealth distabution. Maybe he should take some lessons from Mitt Romney on investment.
The other issues in this election, other than our tanked economy, are his foretign policy which is weak at best. The Middle-east countries now view us as weak, and the uprisings in these countries are not co-incidenses. On the anniversary of 9/11 and months following Bin Ladens death, one of our Ambassadors was brutally tortured, sodamized, and murdered along with 3 Navy Seals. At the same time we saw riots and American flags burned across other countries that we have supported and sent billions of dollars to. He refers to these acts as "bumps in the road". By demonstrating his "turn the other cheek" foreign policy he is setting the USA up for a major terrorist attack just as Bill Clinton did.
The other issues that he has failed on are our debt crisis, Unfair trade allownaces with China and other countries, immigration and shutting down our borders, and ObamaCare.
In his agenda he wants to implement a tax increase. I am all for everyone paying their share but after raising taxes on wealthy and small business owners and saddling companies with increased costs for health insurance, no company large or small is going to grow and increase employees.
The millions of us that do have health insurance provided by our employers, stand to lose our benefits and be forced into obamacare. Health care is the biggest expense employers have. Why would they not pay a fine over offering that benefit. It will be our responsibility and required by law to obtain health care under obamacare . Companies will also be able to drop the health care benefit and pay the employee a styphen to apply towards health insurance cost. I am sure this amount will be no where near the total cost of a policy.
I worked in the health care industry, in the field of Radiology. In this industry and with obamacare, Americans will be scheduling their procedures, be it a MRI, CT Scan or mammogram, 3-6 months out. Ask a breast cancer survivor or any person having their lump detected followed by a wait to get a mammogram or scheduling a biopsy, seeing a surgion and scheduling surgery will devastate a prognosis. How will any one of us feel about this devastating life event being drawn out 6 months instead of 7 days.
So can anyone guess where my vote is going this election year? Frankly, I'm astounded that any American is still backing the current administration. His blame of the previous administion is about 3years to much.

It amazes me at the gullability of the American people. How does a respectable journalist put their name or voice to such one sided slanted interviews, reporting the news, covering the Middle East Libyan murder of our Ambassador, the lack of Mr. Obama to tell the truth on day one, not to mention Fast and Furious, not meeting with his budget committee for over 6 months, and I could go on but it would be in vain. We need Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan for the preservation of our country and your freedom of speech. Just yesterday Mr. Obama shut down CNN and the news about our American citizen having a diary and begging for more protection and that he himself could very well be on a hit list. Protect Mr. Obama now and you may not have a job later unless you put tape over your mouths.

It is sad that the President and the Democrats want Americans to suffer like they are because of the Administration. I can't understand why even the main stream media is on the side of Barack Obama instead of for the American people. Tha citizens ofAmerica are what made this country. I am tired of watching the media take up for Obama over us. No I am not better off today than 4 years ago. What do you see so great about this guy?

It is hard for me to answer the question, "are you better off than you were four years ago." Four years ago, I was being crushed under a mountain of debt with a mortgage price going up, and losing my income, and living in stark fear day and night. Since four years ago, my house was foreclosed on, my truck repossessed, I declared bankruptcy, and I sold half my belongings in yard sales. Now, I'm renting a nice house, but it isn't mine. I own a mini van, but it's just a plain ol mini van someone gave to me. My credit is destroyed, but I'm not living in fear, waking up every night from nightmares and panic. Half my belongings are long gone, but there's nothing I particular miss and cry over - don't even think about it really. So, as for whether I'm better off, well, I lost basically all my material wealth in the last four years, but I'm not afraid anymore. So, how do I answer that question? Financially, in four years, I've been obliterated and have lived in poverty ever since. Emotionally, I've gotten used to it now and I have much more peace. So, I don't know. If I did say I was better off now, it wouldn't be because Obama was in the white house. It would be in spite of any man being in the white house. We give these men too much credit for our lives, no matter who it is. No government official makes or breaks me. I do that, and I did that, from my own poor decision making skills, not because the white house did anything good or bad for me personally.

Look around you, are you better than you were 4 years ago? Walk down the streets of your neighborhood look at all of the for sale and foreclosure signs. Walk into town look at all of the businesses closed. Ask your friends how they like their jobs - if they still have one. If you can't see what's happening around you by all means re-elect President Obama.
