A look back at the 60 Minutes profile of Mitt Romney from May 2007

He had a impression of GW Bush that he signed on to but he says he is aware of the mistake that Bush made. He was aware of the Nixon double cross that introduced the Dixiecrat democrats to the Republicans because his dad was the victim of that treachery.

The story of the Romney's is a nice American tale. The Mormon family explained away their non-participation in the military across several generations. 60 Minutes points out the Romney flip-flops and it makes the point that whatever office that he is running for will dictate the state of his mind. Back in 2007, Mitt was a talkative fellow. Now that he is running for the highest office in the land, he has stopped flip-flopping. The speed at which he changes direction of his thinking now is more like that of a oscillator in a thunderstorm.; Reply to this comment
