Captain Jeffrey MacDonald

August 24, 2012 3:06 PM

It was a chilling crime that stunned the nation: Jeffrey MacDonald, a Green Beret doctor, convicted of murdering his pregnant wife and two young daughters in 1970. Mike Wallace interviews MacDonald in prison, along with Joe McGinnis, the author of a new book on the case.

For all who still have doubts about MacDonald's guilt, ask yourselves why the house was dark when the MPs arrived? Compare this to JM's account and ask yourselves what was wrong with that picture? As far as I know, I came up with this point myself, or at least I don't recall the question being raised before. If not, I assume it was missed by law enforcement. I feel it by itself is damning.

"Well with a collapsed lung and multiple stab wounds the doctor put up enough of a fight that the hippies left as they did perhaps pulling one crazed stabber Cathy Perry out the door before she got to the doctor in a bid to exit the group from the chaotic disorder of the bloody scene."

That's quite the story. Here's the real info on Cathy Perry: Cathy Perry
was an acquaintance of Stoeckley's, but Stoeckley did not implicate her in the murders until the early 1980's. In 1971, CID investigators Mike Pickering and Jack Bennett interviewed Perry in Florida and she denied any involvement in the murders. The CID also obtained head hair and fingerprint exemplars from Perry, and no match was found at the crime scene. In 1971, Perry was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, and she had a history of severe drug use. In 1984, Perry called the FBI and stated that she wanted to confess to being involved in the MacDonald murders. Perry's confession was a bizarre tale with no connection to the facts of this case. Perry claimed that she was picked up off the streets by a group of unknown individuals who recruited her into partaking in a home invasion. Perry states that the group entered through the front door of the MacDonald residence, that she went upstairs to kill one of the two MacDonald boys, and that Jeffrey MacDonald was subdued in the living room with narcotics. Perry added that one of the white male intruders was dark-skinned and that she killed Colette by stabbing her in the legs and stomach. Perry recanted this confession later that same year.

As usual, a so-called fact spread through the interwebs by one of MacDonald's fans is proven to be a lie. There are no -- ZERO -- reputable, verifiable, undeniable FACTS that exonerate Jeff MacDonald. There are hundreds of facts that prove his guilt. It's so easy for anyone to see the evidence for themselves -- autopsy photos, the note written in JD's own hand discussing his use of diet pills, crime scene photos, blood evidence, and on and on and on. There is no excuse for the ignorance of MacDonald's fans. They are dumb, or worse, willfully ignoring the facts for their own bizarre personal reasons. It's sick to defend and support a child killer. It's just sick.

To all of you who are saying he is guilty: You are simply reacting out of emotion over what happened. You are either ignorant of many facts or are blind to the overwhelming evidence that he is innocent! There are numerous witnesses to corroborate the testimony of Helena Stoeckly that was suppressed by the prosecutor who threatened her with being charged with the death penalty if she gave the testimony that she was going to give. This intimidation was witnessed by a very respected US Marshall. Two of the other people who were the real murderers also confessed to several people over the years. There was an enormousness amount of prosecutorial misconduct that took place that ended up with Captain MacDonald not getting anything close to a fair trial, including intentional suppression of evidence and the "accidental loss" of important evidence that would in all likelihood exonerate Captain MacDonald! There is an Army NCO that saw a girl in a floppy hat the night of the murder. There is another witness that accidentally called the MacDonald residence the night of the murder and heard the intruders. There is a cop who used Ms. Stoeckly as an informant who talked to her the next day and she gave him very detailed accounts of the murder and who did it! The list goes on and on. And how about the very respected Errol Morris who made the film "The Thin Blue Line"? In case you are not "in-the-loop" that film was responsible for the release of an innocent man who was convicted of murder! Mr Morris has done an in-depth investigation and has concluded that Captain MacDonald is innocent! The renowned forensic investigator Thomas Noguchi investigated the case and concluded that there were numerous assailants and numerous weapons used in the slayings. In fact one of the assailants was left-handed (Captain MacDonald is right-handed). So before all you haters of Captain MacDonald go shooting your mouths off based on your select isolated views of the "evidence" you should look at all the "facts" of this case!!!! This is another of the cases where the prosecution was so convinced in their minds that he was guilty that they did whatever they had to, even if it was illegal to get their guilty verdict! Several of those involved with the prosecutors case have since become convicted criminals and/or discredited!

Where in the laws of probabilities does it say common statistical events include individual confessions collected from three different suspects gathered over a decade might occur at random? It doesn't unless these same suspects actually together once on Feb 17, 1970 committed the crime they confessed to. Those who comment here seem to think loopy drugged out hippies would have been more rational and organized in their attack and find it unthinkable the error to have left Dr. Jeffery MacDonald alive by chance. Well with a collapsed lung and multiple stab wounds the doctor put up enough of a fight that the hippies left as they did perhaps pulling one crazed stabber Cathy Perry out the door before she got to the doctor in a bid to exit the group from the chaotic disorder of the bloody scene. This psychotic female as the FBI informs us with history of stabbing her own dog enough times to flatten it. Even the other female who dripped candle wax all over the flooring, the one infamously of floppy hat and boots spotted by responding MPs standing alone at a corner, Helena Stoeckley, who later confessed to wandering off disillusioned by the bloody carnage witnessed at Castle Drive. Unless you understood the desperation of an addicted Vietnam vet in 1970 hooked and discharged thus migrating to the hippie community of Fayetteville for the fix, you couldn't understand the danger a Princeton graduate Green Beret doctor might be facing with a young family who thought nothing of leaving the backdoor unlocked in an age quite different than ours.

To anyone who doubts the guilt of Jeffrey MacDonald watch the following case regarding Tim Hennis & the triple murders of a young mother and two children practically the same ages of the MacDonald children. The father - who is 100000% innocent - still tears up when speaking of the murders 20 years later. His entire affect is completely opposite that of Jeffrey MacDonald. Watch and you tell me if you don't see the same as I reported above: http://abc.go.com/watch/2020/SH559026/VD5585470/witness

The stretch of this clip from 14:05 - 16:00 is revealing. In less than two minutes MacDonald goes from emphatically denying he took the pills and lost the weight to contending, with apparent equal sincerity, that doing these things was completely normal, to flipping the tables and accusing Wallace of leaping to conclusions. His 180-degree turn, coming after being confronted with his own written words contrary to his first version, is remarkably smooth. He remains calm and collected throughout.

Italoirish and Lipstickroze are obviously MacDonald groupies.
Anyone who is actually interested in finding out the truth of what happened should look at the evidence. I challenge anyone to find ONE SHRED of evidence that anyone else committed these heinous murders other than MacDonald. Explain away the state's evidence.
If you objectively look at the evidence, the ONLY POSSIBLE culprit is MacDonald. He should have gotten the death penalty
