Ryan: Medicare was there for my mom, grandma

August 18, 2012 8:48 AM

After introducing his mom, Betty, at a campaign stop in The Villages, Fla., on Saturday, Republican VP nominee Paul Ryan said Medicare is worth saving for future generations because it's been there for his mom, and for his grandmother when she got Alzheimer's.

Ryan says his grandmother had Alzheimers and received Medicare benefits. That is confusing, because she would have received Medicare (medical and hospitalization benefits) regardless of whether or not she had Alzheimer's. But Medicare doesn't pay for stays in an Alzheimer's care facility (i.e., a nursing home), which is where a lot of Alzheimer's patients end up. Is it possible that his grandmother was actally on Medicaid??

Who is Paul Ryan?

A catholic who rejects the teachings of Jesus Christ for the philosophy of atheist Ayn Rand. Even the council of catholic bishops and the organizations of catholic nuns are against Ryan and the Ryan budget voted out of the house of representatives by republicans.

Nice pick Mitt

So what, Medicare was there for his grandmother. Why was it? Because of the Democrats. How does he somehow think that saying this covers for all the Republicans who run around (except during election time when they are not speaking to their core fanatic supporters) saying that Medicare has to be phased out as evil socialism.

Paul Ryan's use of his mother to try and legitimize the lies, propaganda and scam he and Romney are proposing on medicare show that republicans have no sense of shame or honor and will stoop to anything to gain power.

This bares for all to see that republicans care only about controlling government to use for the benefit of the super rich contributors along with corporations, big oil and big pharma.

Republicans have shown time and time again that they don't give a damn about ordinary Americans. However they do lie like the devil to ordinary Americans to scam them into voting them into office.

Hypno, remember that in the looking-glass alternate universe of the far right, only conservatives do any work. The rest of us may have studied hard, founded businesses, packed groceries, raised families, dug ditches, put in 50+ hours in a cubicle or who knows what else, but none of that matters. In their version of the real world we're still nothing but leeches.

Or "leaches", to use the peculiar orthography of those well-educated 'cons.

You're gutless Ryan. Totally gutless.

You go to a 55+ GOP retirement community and pitch throwing everyone that's younger than 54 under the voucher bus and surprise! You don't get tied up and burned at the stake. Gee, I wonder why?

If your plan is so great than why don't you make it a voucher program for everyone, right now, regardless of age? Get back in front of all those people right now and tell them they ARE getting the voucher program whether they like it or not. Treat them just like the 40-54 year old age group and see what happens.

What you are is a BS con man. Pretending to sell a product to a roomfull of people that had NO skin in the game.

I have news for you, Go find an audience of people between 40 and 54 (especially those 48-54) that have already paid their dues and try and sell them your BS. They deserve just as much as anyone to stay in the current system.

Good luck with that Con Man.

Ryan is so radical; I would like him questioned, under TRUTH SERUM.

Ryan should be asked if he belongs to the secret, radical catholic sub-cult, OPUS DEI.

OPUS DEI had FBI Agent, Robert Hanssen, spying for Russia.

Beware of cultists lusting for power.

So what if it was?

Let's look forward and look at HIS plans.

Not who used them.

Which includes Ayn Rand, interestingly enough...

But Ryan's using his older relatives as crutches is truly insulting.

It all goes back to taxes. What are these two clowns hiding. They need to hear Taxes, Taxes, Taxes every time they get on the stump.
