Web extra: "Music is my way of expressing myself now"

July 28, 2012 10:03 AM

Daniel Barthels tells Seth Doane landing in a maximum-security prison wasn't a total surprise for him -- it was the result of the violent road he took. Barthels says he didn't have another outlook, but today he does: music. It gives him a new way to express himself -- his words, anger and frustrations. Violin in hand, Daniel takes part in a Carnegie Hall outreach program designed to help inmates change their lives via music.
