Obama talks gun control: "Common sense" needed

Addressing the National Urban League in New Orleans on Wednesday night, President Obama talked about gun control in light of the Aurora, Colo., shooting last week, stressing the importance of "common sense" solutions that do not encroach on Second Amendment rights.

Two men pleaded guilty on Tuesday to murdering a South African couple before drowning their son in a bathtub full of boiling water.
Patrick Petrus Radebe, 24, and Sipho Mbele, 21, admitted to breaking into into the Johannesburg home of 53-year-old Tony Viana and his wife, 43-year old Geraldine, Sowetan Live reports. The two men raped and shot Geraldine, then attacked Tony with a machete and golf club before shooting him the head.
The two men said that when they realized the couple's 12-year-old son, Amaro, would be able to later identify them, they tied his hands and feet and drowned him in the bathtub. Forensic analysis indicated that the boy had been held in boiling water, the Daily Mail reports.
Before leaving, the robbers killed the family dog by slicing open the animal's stomach.

Mr. Obama again mentions Ak 47s none was used in Aurora, There was one used to Kill Brian Terry. TO bad Mr Holders Department of Justice sold it to the criminals that Killed Brian Terry

It seems Bob Schieffer is the straight man for the president so I will repost my comment from Schieffer's article on common sense.

If you are going to reference Tom Payne then I hope at least you read his essay. He rallyed the american people to an armed conflict with and oppresive government bent on regulating and taxing everything in sight.
If you think more regulation is the answer, history has proven you are wrong. Perhaps actually punishing a real criminal might be a novel approach. It seemed to work a little better when society was able to identify the real cause of crime, instead of shifting the blame to a myriad of liberal causes. The man or woman who commits the crime should be held accountable. period
