Rep MCcarthey has obviously called the police recently and no doubt has complete confidence that they can respond within a reasonable time. I really do not think she has because she would realize that 10-40 minutes is the average response time for Law Enforcement. She obviously does not live in the real world either since she would realize that if the individual who committed this cowardly attack could have easily obtained these weapons illegally. Making more laws is not going to make the criminals obey them. We will never be able to totally control our enviroment unless we put mind control chips in each individual, but then who gets to decide what we do then? Enforce the laws we have and each of us has to be willing to look around us occasionally for things that appear out of the ordinary. My question is how did he carry all the weapons in that he had and nobody noticed. Pull your heads out of your phones once and awhile. More gun control laws will not make the individuals committing these acts stop, it will just drive them to use other methods such as blowing up a bomb in the theater instead of just rigging their apartments. This individual is sick, let's get more help for these people instead trying to control how they kill other people, because that will never work. There is a country in Europe that has an extremely low burglary/home invasion/mugging rate and that is because they expect the average citizen to be armed and consequently the citizens are safer. This country even gives its citizens who serve in the armed forces the weapon they carried while on active duty when thay leave the military. They take this weapon home with them and they have been trained how to use it, no wonder the burglaries and home invasions are almost non-existent. Who would break into a home knowing the citizen is armed and knows how to use it. I say enforce the laws we have and if you want to add laws, add laws that would make available famaliarization and proper handling training for firearms. I will now leave the pulpit.
