Boehner: I "respect" health care ruling but want it repealed

June 28, 2012 12:00 PM

Speaker of the House John Boehner, R-Ohio, on Thursday said he "respects" the Supreme Court's decision to mostly uphold President Obama's Affordable Care Act, but added that he and other Republicans who disagree with the ruling have strengthened resolve to repeal it.

What is it with republicans, they insist they want everyone except the truly impoverished to pull their own weight and when presented with an opportunity to accomplish just that with healthcare, they object without giving it a chance. It's no secret that hospitals and similar healthcare facilities absorb the cost of the uninsured, and in order to avoid insolvency over-charge those able to pay or the properly insured to cover their costs.

The president stated that problems from the new health system may emerge and he would be willing to work to identify and iron out the difficulties. The positive course is in the direction of co-operative improvement not in divisive and derisive disagreement which is negative by its very nature. Co-operation is the less expensive course ... stop using tax-payer resources to fight your dubious battles.

It's also no secret that there are profits to be made from chaos. The system that existed prior to this was chaos. Are the profits derived from chaos what the republicans are really fighting for?

Why do I continually get the feeling that republicans are spoiled brats who have always got their way by throwing a tantrum. Can't you just "eat your peas" and search for positive paths for improvement? Look around, this country belongs to more than just a select few and it is no secret that some with little means have expensive health problems.

You may claim I am siding with the democrats, however, I have often voted republican when I believe it to be the best choice. Those opportunities are becoming less and less.

Regards,
Independent Voter

Where is the Republican health care reform? As of now you only have a bill to repeal the health care reform we already have? Is that all you think it takes to ensure better health care? Repeal a provision that prevents health insurance companies to discriminate against vulnerable individuals, one that helps the elderly afford their medications, one that let's kids stay on parent's plan until they turn 27 and let's not forget the tax on individuals that show up in the ER without insurance? So if we repeal all that, will that ensure better and more accessible health care, is that the Republican plan? If not, then why do you idiots want to repeal "Obamacare" before introducing your own reform? Maybe you are just trying to fool he people, because you have no clue what to do about the health care issue but still want to gain percentages in polls.

You and Cantor and Tea Party loons like our neighbor Joe Walsh can vote for repeal as many times as you wish, Rep. Boehner, but the Senate and the President will make sure that your votes are pure theater NOW, and the American people will make sure that your votes are pure theater from 2013 through 2016.

At this point, I think Boehner and Cantor are useless. They moan, whine, lie and cry and if they have to go to the Emergency room tonight or today, they will use government issued free paid insurance that many people with no insurance have paid on their behalf! The President has kicked your Butt at every level and he will drown your sorry tails come November. The GOP leaders are now the laughingstock of America and the world! The Boehners and Cantors of the world are in denial. YOU HAVE DONE NOTHING BUT complain, nitpick, nag, criticize and whine! You want limited government involvement, give up your retirement and fund your own health care. That will save millions! The political gangsters of the GOP don't measure up to the democrats. You might want to ask Ms. Nancy for a lesson on "How to Pass a BILL"!

In Ohio, a Republican Governor is stalling the implementation of bills passed by the Democrat controlled legislature to create a health insurance exchange.

The Republicans just keep repeating the same old crap. Repetition is the key to getting mentally weak people to agree with you.
