Romney: "Obamacare" is bad policy, bad law

June 28, 2012 9:24 AM

Responding to the Supreme Court's decision Thursday to largely uphold President Obama's health care law, presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney lambasted "Obamacare" - which many Republicans and Democrats say was modeled after Romney's health care mandate as governor of Massachusetts - and vowed to repeal it on day one of his administration.

I do not understand why employers have to foot the bill for employes that do not have health care. We have been fine all this time without Obama care why now? My boyfriend will lose his job all I have is SSI how are we going to live its not fare. Whell I guess if Obama Care gets passed how long will it take to take effect?

Those that are watching the major entitlement programs (lies) fail know how deceitful politicians are when it comes to giving out false promises to keep their jobs. Obama is the master of card tricks. His sleight of hand is truly admirable. He has convinced his many followers that, despite the many soon to fail entitlement promises, this entitlement promise is going to work! Obama's follower's ignorance is unfathomable. That these easily misguided folks still believe in hucksters like Obama is the epitome of the "truth is stranger than fiction" quote. I personally give Obama a hand. To pull the wool over the eyes of so many supposedly "enlightened" people is his Opus. This man gets up on a stage, smiles his winning smile, acts all smooth, and the idiots bow before him. You gotta admire a guy like that. You gotta admire someone that can reel in the suckers so effortlessly. What makes me even happier is that these same suckers are going to pay and pay for their belief in this false messenger. These folks don't get it now, but they will. One by one, all of the great entitlement lies are collapsing. The only good in this latest entitlement lie is this: It will hasten the fall of the previous lies. Congratulations on the win! In the end, you'll have only yourselves to hate for it.

But Willard, it looks exactly like Romneycare! Let's hear what you're going to replace it with. Before the election, if you please.

What is it with republicans, they insist they want everyone except the truly impoverished to pull their own weight and when presented with an opportunity to accomplish just that with healthcare, they object without giving it a chance. It's no secret that hospitals and similar healthcare facilities absorb the cost of the uninsured, and in order to avoid insolvency over-charge those able to pay or the properly insured to cover their costs.

The president stated that problems from the new health system may emerge and he would be willing to work to identify and iron out the difficulties. The positive course is in the direction of co-operative improvement not in divisive and derisive disagreement which is negative by its very nature. Co-operation is the less expensive course ... stop using tax-payer resources to fight your dubious battles.

It's also no secret that there are profits to be made from chaos. The system that existed prior to this was chaos. Are the profits derived from chaos what the republicans are really fighting for?

Why do I continually get the feeling that republicans are spoiled brats who have always got their way by throwing a tantrum. Can't you just "eat your peas" and search for positive paths for improvement? Look around, this country belongs to more than just a select few and it is no secret that some with little means have expensive health problems.

You may claim I am siding with the democrats, however, I have often voted republican when I believe it to be the best choice. Those opportunities are becoming less and less.

Regards,
Independent Voter

Bad policy? Absurd statement considering it's modeled on the law Willard Romney signed in Mass. Willard is the typical conservative hypocrite. He's got his government health care for life courtesy of his tenure as a failed governor but he doesn't want anyone else to have health care. And what exactly would Willard "replace" it with? That's right, once again, Willard offers no solutions, just cheap talk.

Given Romney created something much like it for his state, and that his own people worked with Obama, he has some...

From the Borowitz Repor...."Just minutes after the Supreme Court upheld President Obama's Affordable Care Act, Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney slammed the Court, calling the law "the worst idea I ever had."

"I vow to repeal this law on my first day in office," he told a crowd at a campaign rally. "Until then, I will work tirelessly to make people forget that I used to totally love it."

At the White House, President Obama greeted the news of the Court's decision in muted fashion: "I haven't been this pumped since I smoked bin Laden."

Dissenters in the 5-4 decision included Justice Antonin Scalia, who wrote, "The only medical procedures the government should pay for are forced transvaginal ultrasounds and exorcisms."

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell also had harsh words for the healthcare law, telling reporters, "Under Obamacare, you will be forced to marry a gay doctor."

But perhaps the most negative appraisal came from Speaker of the House John Boehner: "This is a dark day for America. If we are forced to have healthcare, it's only a matter of time before we have education."

I noticed he used the words "could" and "potentially" many times in his opinion against this law. I think he should get over it if he wants to get elected. Now that the law has been affirmed, most folks just want to hear something else and will tune him out. A potential problem in the future pales in comparison to the real problems of the present.

Corporate America and the Insurance Industry decided mandates of this kind are good and profitable and "abracadabra", the conservative controlled SC made it so ...

Think about it ... why would the same conservative controlled court that upheld "citizens united" uphold "insurance mandates"? Corporate America had a chance to think about it and decided they like it ...? Corporate republicans love this ... and Obama gets the credit/blame. Why do you think Romney wanted this type of law for the State of Massachusetts?

Does anybody really believe the Romney campaign is upset by all this? Is it possible the rhetoric is all based on perceived voter objections in order to get elected?

Romney will be too busy creating jobs in India to worry about repealing Obamacare (which Romney invented).
