Obama booed in Boston

June 26, 2012 8:44 AM

President Obama thanked Boston for trading baseball's Kevin Youkilis from the Red Sox to the Chicago White Sox, Obama's team, at a fundraiser in Boston on Monday. His shout-out wasn't particularly well-received, and the president was even booed by the crowd.

Yock and boo do sound very similar, espacially when yelled by many people over a highly amplified sound system, but I think maybe your reporter was a little over zealous in reporting it as a boo. Maybe he just doesn't know anything about the Boston White Sox and Youkalis fans and thier appreciating cheer. Also maybe your reporter is a closet right winger. In either case a public correction by your company is in order.

Can't agree with the President on the White Sox, but otherwise, he's doing a great job- despite what the Boehners, McDonnels, Romneys, Kochs, Limbaughs,& Hannitys of the extreme right want us to think. They are the ANGRY OLD WHITE GUYS crowd & HATE anybody that ain't part of their little club.

Obviously the writer of this article has no idea what they're talking about. As manontheside10 said, it was tradition for Red Sox fan to chant "YOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUKKKKKKK" (which sounds like "boo" when thousands of people are saying it in unison) whenever Youkilis was batting. Please actually know what you're talking about before writing an article, CBS. Thanks.

For the record, we weren't booing.

It's a Boston tradition to chant "Youuuuuk" every time Kevin Youkalis comes to bat.
