Before the first vaccine was developed for whooping cough in 1939, the respiratory infection killed thousands of Americans each year. Hundreds of cases are now being reported in eight states including Washington, which has declared an epidemic. Dr. Jon LaPook reports on what is behind the recent outbreak.
