I do think Ron Reynolds did it, and also I think the Reynolds family were all protecting each other!

My roommate sleeps through the smoke alarm, while everyone else in the house wakes up. I think the only way to know is to test the person who said they slept through it.

This test is pretty pointless. First of all, people wake and not wake up at different sounds. I personally have seen at least 10 friends sleeping by a big loudspeaker with really loud music on. One short noise can be however loud and not wake you up really if there will be complete silence after that, or you kind of wake up and fall asleep in the next moment not remembering anything the next day. It is about like the lightening does not necessarily kill you because it's short. I have seen a child of my friend sleeping like dead in a carriage next to a loudspeaker on a rockconcert. Furthermore, if we consider the shot was made in a closet - why didn't they made the experiment there? Is it because it would have been too obvious that the husband was telling the truth?

This is an incredibly sad tale of police incompetence. Failure of the crime scene investigation to pinpoint the cause of death makes the successful prosecution of Reynolds or his son impossible. There is a huge difference in the burden of proof in a criminal case versus the burden of proof in a coroner's inquest and that is why the inquest jury ruled "homicide" and named the likely murderers. But "likely" doesn't cut it when someone's freedom is on the line. Kudos to the mother of the victim for doin all she could to help her find her own sense of peace.

I just watched this story, it said something about the left hand right hand user differences. Does it matter what hand a person uses in suicide to shoot themselves with?
