A lot of witnesses did state she was not well. Maybe she didn't show her mother that. I don't show my mother most of my feelings and my mother and I are close. Of course she would think it was homicide, and you never know, it could be but it looks like homicide will never be proven because no one will fess up and also key parts of evidence was destroyed. I can't really decide on if it is a homicide or a suicide but it is a awful story for both sides, but Mr Berry did not really help the case either.

There's no way this Reynolds character was a "active" Jehovah's Witness. And neither was his one skinny drug fueled looking son with the cig behind his ear in that one picture.
He may have very well been a elder, but even then he would not call himself a marriage counselor. If he we're a elder he would guide and help ones having issues with certain things, directing them with spiritual help from the bible. And he would be meeting with the couple not alone, but with another elder.
Now things happen and people are imperfect and prone to sin, and yes sometimes infidelity happens even within the Jehovah Witnesses and in those cases, if repentance is shown than they may get reproved or even dis-fellowshipped. If repentance is totally not shown, person or persons would be removed from the congregation. I'm pretty sure this Reynolds is no longer a witness. And if he still says he is, well sure he could be going to the kingdom hall, no one is turned away, but I can 100% given his speech during this interview, he would not be talked to by any of the other members of the hall, and he would be disfellowshiped and treated as a bad influence and danger in the hall

This story is heartbreaking that women didnt kill herself those 2men are guilty of murdering that women. The cops should be ashamed of thereselevs they lost evidence just because it looks like someone killed there self doesnt mean they did. The cops should have looked into this good and did the right thing with the evidence.

It's either A or B.

If homicide, it's either Ron or the son or both. Ron had motive because of his cheating.

If suicide, I'd expect Ronda to display signs of depression and helplessness. I can't tell if there were or weren't. It is strange that she called mom promising to see her soon.

Ronda's mom seemed very emotional when she recounted Ron's insensitive responses. She would have to be truly wicked to make them up...

Insensitive does not equal guilty, but the denial of things equal dishonesty. And why be dishonest when such a serious investigation is underway?

The sex seems insignificant as it could occur in both A and B.

I'm inclined towards homicide overall.

PS: Ann Rule's first book was about Ted Bundy, whom she personally knew, and had maintained a friendship with for some years, before Bundy was caught and convicted. That happenstance association probably made her famous as a crime writer. Not to discredit her, just noting =)

As a Witness,I know that Ron would no longer be a Jehovah's witness because of his misconduct. Elders are not to counsel anyone of the opposite sex alone. He should have had another elder with him to prevent getting involved in a relationship like . I agree that Ron has "morals of a snake." I doubt very much if he is still one of Jehovah's witnesses.

I think the old man had motive and opportunity.

From the area. This case was simple suicide. You've only been given snippets of information here. Rhonda's friends and ex husband and co-workers substantiate her fragile state of mind and notable metal health issues, as well as erratic behaviors. Her mother was obviously devestated, and fed off of one, attention seeking disgruntled employee cop's insistence that it was murder (Mr. Berry). Combine that with a poor rural county's crappy police work in terms of crime scene protocol, and you get all kinds of wild conjecture. The crappy police work hurt Ron Reynolds, because if it would have been professional, it wouldn't have left room for 14 years of wild speculation. Everybody loves a mystery, and a mother's denial is a very powerful thing. If you would like to get a glimpse into the judgmental and wildly speculative mind of Mr. Berry, read the self-congratulatory book he wrote about Lewis County murders.

This video keeps stopping at different places each time. Then, it displays only a black screen. Not exactly the quality I associate with CBS NEWS. I'm disappointed because I really felt bad for the mother. I would really like to know if she was able to get justice.

This is the only 48 hours show where I felt they might be innocent and she may have committed suicide. They had sex the night before her death. So he would be fine with her leaving the next day. The shot was in the master closet so why would the son be up there? It could have dawned on her that her dream job was gone and she failed in 2 marriages what was she going to do now? And killed herself.
I don't know and you don't know either. Just sharing my thoughts. As for taking the 5th? That is the smart thing to do if you watch enough of these shows. I'd do that as well. Another sad story
