I'm curious to know if the prosecutor ever offered a deal in exchange for the location of the body.

It's difficult to believe someone who has no problem with lying about everything, and not unimportant things like a diploma... He justifies all of his lies and truly believes what he does is correct. So maybe he believes it is ok to lie about killing someone.

This man is the best liar I've ever seen. When people are asked a question they will answer and have an involuntary response in their body language. A normal liar will nod their head in affirmative when denying something outloud. They don't know they do it. THis man hears the question. He doesn't answer right away..he says "hmmmm" and he thinks. Then he shakes his head no before he actually says "no i didn't do it." THis is a talent that most people don't have. He has the ability to make himself believe what he is saying. He is one slick guy

Rick Valentini actually faced two different juries in 2011. I went to his first trial, CBS went to his second. Because of that we have each tended to cover different aspects of the Rick Valentini case. There's a lot of great video and information in this episode. But many commenters still have questions. It just so happens that many of those questions are answered in the story that I was working on at that time and has since been published. For more information on how to find out more about Valentini's childhood and why cops are convinced Jamie is dead, feel free to click through here. http://camillekimball.blogspot.com/2012/07/be-sure-to-visit-bookstore-page-rick.html

p.s. CBS, I didn't see any prohibition on links in your Rules of Engagement. Hope this is ok!

I understand him wanting to change his name. Oops! I believed him about why he wanted to have a new name. The man is a liar, Right?

He is so good at lying, I believed everything he said, but the evidence points to he has gotten rid of his girlfriend.

He told the reporter he has never killed anyone, which is his only screw-up during the interview. He volunteered he had never killed anyone, which means he has killed before.

I'm absolutely amazed by the misinformed rhetoric being exchanged in this blog. Particularly from MercyNotJustice. Do you honestly believe you can view a 42 minute snapshot of a trial that in reality spanned the course of over 5 weeks and honestly think you saw and heard even a small portion of the mountains of evidence that was presented to the jury to prove the defendent was guilty beyond a reasonable doubt? Were you present everyday in the courtroom, as I was, to hear the testimony of countless witnesses that painted a very clear picture of the defendant's guilt? Unless you can honestly say you have taken all the facts into consideration and carefully drawn an educated conclusion as did the jury, what authority do you possess to denounce the hard work, careful thought, and personal sacrifice those individuals made by sitting on that jury? Shame on you!

I don't think it's a good idea for that TV reporter to sit so close to that killer.
