I can not believe the difference. I started blocking sugar a month ago. Changing what I eat, how I eat. All the "hype" about toxic sugar and all the ailments associated with it are true. You do not realize until you cut it out.

The program "Is Sugar TOXIC to your Body" did address the issue of high fructose corn syrup. The body recognizes both as sugar. Both are equally bad. (In response to KathrynHathaway)

Tell your kids, be straight with them! To withhold this information is taking away their power to say no. I showed my children the videos Future Food and Food Inc. then as a family we ditched all the processed foods. Well, save sugar. lol Now they will see this one and the others and guess what, they will be empowered to take it out of their diet as well. It is funny to watch my son explain to his BS troop why they shouldn't use margarine or pasteurized milk in their camp meal planning. Yeah, they now use coconut oil and raw milk.

It is known that inflammation is the root cause of many health conditions. It has been known that sugar causes inflammation for years. Kinda sucks when the FDA makes money off the AMA...Designed illnesses. Stop sugar, feel better, use Agave Necter, feel better. When you READ the food labels of stuff passed as 'food' and you know it didn't grow in the ground or come from an animal it is going to have a negative effect on the body..maybe not immediately but give it a few years...SH*T IN....

I also have gotten rid of sugar and all processed foods in my diet. Have lost 40 pounds and also noticed many other improvements, including less congestion, less 'brain fog', more energy and better overall mood. Another important message of the 60 Minutes interview was the addictive power of sugar, which is a huge health issue, contributing to compulsive overeating, beginning in childhood and continuing throughout our lives. Cutting out sugar and processed foods is the BEST self-care things I've done. Thanks so much, Dr. Gupta, for spreading this important, life-saving message.

Thank for this report. My son believes that news departments are in the pockets of major advertisers. This proves to me that you are not adversly influenced by corporate interests. I'm sure this will cost you an advertiser or two. Bob

I wish the programs expairements had differenciated between refined sugar and "high frutose corn syrup"-which is what was in the soda used during the MRI. I believe that HFCS is killing us faster as it is cheaper than refined sugar and is used with wreckless abandon by manufacturers. (Does anyone remember the confusion during the Original Coke/New Coke/Classic Coke hoo-haw?)

We also need to be label-readers, fructose, sucrose etc...those are all sugar.

Some months ago, I read that sugar can cause inflammation in your body. I drastically reduced my sugar intake. It seemed to work well for me; the arthritis in my fingers almost never bothers me now. I can now do things that caused me pain before I limited my sugar intake, like opening a jar or holding the leash when walking my dog. I have had high cholesterol most of my life, I will be very interested next time I get it checked to see if limiting sugar has lowered it.
