Michael Morton is my new hero. Most of us have HAD the nightmare - HE lived it. Unimaginable that in this country you can be snatched from your life, have your precious child ripped from your hands as you're trying to make sense of someone having killed your wife, and then have a "public servant" seeker of truth sabotage your life and put you behind bars for a quarter of a century. Meantime, this dirty prosecutor gets awards and a promotion. I don't believe in God, but if I did think there was a God, I would hope He would have BIG plans for that prosecutor for eternity. Mr. Morton, my hat is off to you, sir. I cannot imagine emerging from unjust imprisonment and the loss of 25 years of hugs and high fives with your son with an attitude as glorious and refreshing as yours.

To Mr. Michael Morton: You are such an extraordinary man. I so admire you, for having such a wonderful attitude and being able to keep your gentle spirit in spite of what you've been through. I am so sorry that you were so wrongly accused and that you were cheated of so many years of your life. You certainly have made the most of a tragic situation by getting, not only a B.S. but also a master's degree during those 25 years. Your son must be very proud of you and I am so sorry that he too had to spend so many years of his life without his dad. May God bless you and hold you in the palm of His hand.

So-called "Prosecutorial Immunity" is what used to be called "The King can do no wrong" ... and we founded a country on objecting to exactly that sort of high-handed tyranny. You have to wonder how a law like this could ever get passed in the United States of America.
