July 19, 2012 6:00 AM

After nearly 25 years in prison, Michael Morton was exonerated by a DNA test. Did a prosecutor hide evidence that could have proven Morton's innocence during his 1987 trial? Lara Logan reports on Sunday, July 22 at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

For a DA or Prosecutor to knowlingly withhold or on some legal detail disallow info that PROVES a person innocent just to enhance his office/position or carrer etc..shows how despicable the whole Justice (laughing) system is...

Again in Texas! What is it with these people? They send more people to prison and hand down more death sentences than any other state except maybe Florida. And so it goes that there are more DNA exonerations than any other state too. It makes me shudder to think of all the other wrongful convictions where there is no DNA to be had, and the wrongfully executed in Texas, remember, Texas leads the nation in executions too.

It also makes me wonder at the prosecutors who will move hell on earth to defend a wrongful conviction, to suppress exculpatory evidence, and fight the DNA testing that would tend to exonerate the accused.

I don't know about a system like that, I just don't know.

I hate lawyers as a group....They have stymied the latest in lie detection equipment/test...
How can we have the ability to map DNA, go to the moon, find the "god particle" and yet can not produce a lie detector...
To me this seems incredible...No more he said they said bull...just the truth...but alas this would eliminate too many lawyers and they are the ones who control you now in government...

I believe if the prosecutor hid the evidence with intent, then he should serve the same sentence as the person he sent to jail....

I just saw the article about the man in Texas that was released from prison because the DA with held vital information in his case which means he was not guilty. My son has been in prison for 12 years because a man at a party where a fight broke out between my son and the other man. The man picked up a kitchen knife and went towaed my son. The man was accidentally killed. Everyone ran but my son stayed behind trying to stop the bleeding. So since he was the only left the detective said he murdered the man. He was given was given a life sentance. We have been trying to 12 years to find the woman who was a witness. We found out a few years ago that the name we were looking for is not even her real name. Please help us find this woman. Please send me an email to reach you, that is not on face book. I have articles about the detectives and other things things they did with other people they arrected.

A big thanks to 60 Minutes for covering this story. Former DA Ken Anderson put Michael in prison and current DA John Bradley kept him there. We call for both to resign.

Thank you CBS for covering this. Mr. Morton appears to have incredible grace as a result of his ordeal. For more outstanding coverage, check out the reporting by the local newspaper, The Williamson County Sun:

This is just one more reason America needs to stop executing it's citizens ,
and , make police & prosecutors prove- not just say - a person is guilty.
"Good people , " aren't always the ones on the side of the law .
