September 16, 2012 12:11 PM

After 33 years in the military and 8 years as head of Israel's intelligence agency, Meir Dagan says he has the standing to speak out against an attack on Iranian nuclear facilities anytime soon.

On the topic of Iranian nukes, a question never asked is "why not embrace M.A.D.".

It seams resolved by everyone that Iran will eventually (and soon) be a nuclear nation regardless of what Israel or anyone does. Also resolved, Israel has a substantial nuclear and missile capability.

M.A.D. (mutually assured destruction) defined the relationship between the US and the former Soviet Union for 40 years, two nations just as "warm to each other" as Israel and Iran, until the collapse of Soviets. M.A.D. kept the two from DIRECT military confrontations, and saved the world from nuclear Armageddon.

I suspect that what the Israeli government really wants, all it really needs, is more time to perfect it's missile defense systems. Like the US, Israel's paranoia is well founded. Unlike the US however, Israel is a tiny nation very close to its boastful enemy.

Pride:

There is too much gloating, especially when one can use the channel without anyone to counter your point of view on air.
Teseby Ashkolov can speak - or not any more - volumes of the professionalism that Dagan spoke off. I am sure the killing three faculty members of physics department of an Iranian university is much more daring than having the organizer of the opponent's assassination team trip on his own magnetic bomb "by accident", as it happened to the Mossad's deputy.

My sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and his colleagues.

I do not doubt the ability of the Mossad. But I think, and it's only my opinion, that the Iranian's knew full well that the Western Powers were sabotaging their nucleur facilities. And to a point the Officials of the Iranian gov't, allowed it to be.

The reason being, the USA invaded Iraq, on lies. Therefore, the soldiers that fought, did not fight with all of their heart and soul. The cause was not whole hearted. And over 6500 died and 60,000 maimed. And keep in mind, that the people who attacked the USA soldiers were not militarily trained.
Now going back to Iran, over the years, the Iranians have witnessed these sabotages, the state media made sure of this. Therefore the Iranians feel that they have been attacked. Giving them a cause to fight. And believe me there is a difference in how you fight when it is a cause. Then one based on lies. So the Iranian Officials, have succeeded, in gathering the population, for there cause.
Afterall, the evidence of 5 dead nucleur scientist, and all the other sabotages have rallied the population towards the Mullahs.
So in the end, it is they that out smarted the Mossad, because now you have a whole country that is willing to fight to the death. Unfortunately, no one wins in a war.
