The world's most popular teacher doesn't show his face in online tutorials so students focus on the work, says Khan Academy's Sal Khan. Watch "60 Minutes" on Sunday, Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

Sal is great. I don't care how many points my children log. I do care that they learn. Khan Academy is awesome and free. When someone GIVES you something for FREE - don't complain. Find a way to make it work for you.

My daughter has used Khan Academy twice to get pre-reqs for courses she wanted. Worked like a charm.

This site is horrible and this man is a fraud. Our school district used the Kahn Academy site for summer assignments and it has been nothing but a nightmare. Issues with the site cannot be reported because there is no customer service number or email address. If you have an issue, you are expected to troll the blogs to see if you can find a solution to whatever issue you are having. The tutorial videos are useless. The modules are taking the kids hours to complete because the site won't give credit after all of the questions have been answered correctly. Kids are completing modules only to log in the next day to find out that the site has somehow updated to reflect that the module was not completed. I would NOT recommend this site to anyone or to any school district. It is free and you get what you pay for - junk.

This man is not the Daniel Boone of the hidden face online introductory course teaching model. Many people, including Indians and other Middle Easterners have been doing this for a while, and successfully. I don't think he should be painted as a revolutionary in the field, but he does have the degrees and understanding of how to succeed in high level academia, thus he is qualified to teach and start programs for a wide audience.

I find it tremendously heartening as a WASP but a converted Jew, a person who lived all over the world and experienced the reality of and enjoyed BEING a minority, to keep me humble, that a non white, non 'majority' fellow, came up with this incredibly novel, innovative idea of extending quality education to ANYONE. It is pure American: radical, different, bold, full of economic potential, 'game changing,' transparent, invented by one person, started in a Silicon Valley 'garage'==an office above a tea shop--how cool is that! He shows we need more diversity. And he does not have a funny face, he is warm, handsome, humble, bright, expressive, motivated, altruistic. I wish I had another daughter he could marry...

I've used Khan Academy, both to learn & re-learn subjects so I can assist my children with their homework. My children can be hesitant at times from using this resource, but I have found it to be an excellent resource for me the parent. I've also gone back and started using it to learn subjects that I never had the opportunity or time to learn in high school & college. I've told many parents about this site and they have agreed with me that it does provide a much needed resource for us as well as our students/children. Thank you!

The story about what Mr. Khan is doing to help children learn was terrific. I also very much appreciated Mr. Gutpa's follow-up words of encouragement after he asked the young man who had been having difficulties in math whether that young man thought he could do what was necessary to go to college. The young man said that he thought he could, and Mr. Gutpa said that he thought so, too. A perfect response.

I really appreciate Khan and what he is doing. I am looking forward to taking the classes and learning subjects I had thought were out of reach. Please continue your great works and thanks again for inspiring us to learn more. Your friend Russ
