I couldnt even finish listening to this Sweet & Low morning SPLENDA cup of joe, politically correct dont break a nail conversation. They are so out of touch and repeating whatever they have heard in the news CLICHE's about the reasons oil is so high in price. These people arnt going anywhere fast in their careers. Our elected officials have failed to control speculators and oil companies from manipulating the price of oil. THERE IS NO OIL SHORTAGE.

How about for once cbsnews tell us the truth. Gas prices are up mainly because of Bernanke QE. The market is up 8% and gas is up 10%. Why won't you all report on that! Get Steve Croft to look into it!

Expert my rear end, the guys clear have not thought of to consider that Americans' usage of cars and their destinations are far and wide in between whereas as the rest of the world's nations are basically small in size with the majority of their populations crowed into little pigeon holes that consider as homes. Look at Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore. America's suburbia communities are just not suited for mass transit in perhaps in major and or small crowded cities like Seatle, San Fransisco, Boston or U. S. metropolis such as New York where people actually live in the city with no place to park their cars! What about the facts that many of America's population live in very cold climates with snow and storm season that can even kill inside the SAFTY of automobiles(can you imagine braving such conditions) The only other alternative is perhaps Vespa type scooters for those in weather friendly locals....

We have no shortage of oil here in the US. We have an abundance of greed! The excess fuel that is being processed is sent abroad, instead of being shipped to us. They are doing this do force and inflated sense of need. The oil companies and the refineries are doing this to artificially inflate the price of fuel. This has been going on for the past decade. I thought that trade monopoly market was illegal here in the united states. It seems that both the republicans and the democrats are willing to allow this to happen for their own agendas. We need a leader who will look out for the needs of the common person who needs to fill his tank every week. Republicans try to keep the cost of gas high to feed money to the gas companies and the refineries, and the democrats allow the gas price gouging to further their own crazy "pie in the sky" push for green energy. It will happen in due time, however, we still need to be able to at least get by until then.

Why is it that every one who seems to have a good paying job does not a have problem with the fuel prices being handled so lightly.Bottom line: tThey can get it so they are plain and simple. What is chinas price on gas comapred tomours and do alkl their cars meet our pollution standards.Just wait till the 18 wheelers prices start effecting their life style. They need to get out on the street and meet the people who cannot get to work. The Us gov needs to get off it butt and get in the game.

On the scale of husky-voiced women, Jill is somewhere near Brenda Vaccaro.
