by metricmatrix February 14, 2012 10:39 AM EST: As one who is very familiar with the general culture and politics of the so-called medical research today, I don't believe Anil Potti was primarily motivated by an altruistic motivation to help the terminal cancer patients, at all. He exemplifies a typicsl medical researcher who is mainly motivated by a selfish goal of achieving personal recognition and rewards, by any means necessary, if he or she can get away with it. Data manipulation or, even, outright fabrication, great or small, such as by Potti, certainly have become more frequent in published works by both well-known and less-known researchers across the world. In short, what are supposed to be unbiased, objective, scientific endeavors motivated by nothing more or less than the quest for verifiable facts have, unfortunately, been badly corrupted by the lust for fame and fortune, not the least of all is the ultimate dream of winning the Nobel Prize.; Reply to this comment

by maurice225 February 13, 2012 9:52 PM EST: "My wife did take B17, high doses of Vitamin C and did NOT take any radiation or chemo (other than the estrogen blocking Tamoxifin pill) and she has been alive and cancer free for 3 years after stage 2/3 breast cancer. Of course the medical Dr. in our country said masectomy and chemo+raidation was the only way to survive. The older I get, the less I believe what is the so called truth from our so called leaders. Check out the North Carolina Medical Board information on Potti, including the 11 malpractice suits settled in his name within the last few months. All relating to his research and fraudulent clinical cancer trials conducted at Duke University. Also read the 2 lawsuits filed in Durham County District Court involving 9 of his former patients, of which 6 have unfortunately died already. Check out the Chronicle (Official Duke Students news letter), search for Potti, Nevins, Cuffe, Marcom, Callif, Crawford and others.
