Warren Buffett has chosen his son Howard to succeed him as chairman of his multibillion dollar holding company. But Howie, a farmer, is no chip off the old block. Lesley Stahl reports.

The number of commercials is worse than tv, your site rarely plays a full video without crashing and with all the commercials, you lost me, I won't be back, you suck.

For Lesley Stahl: I am a researcher at New Mexico State University and have a cure for what Howard Buffet is trying to accomplish in third world countries. You might also be interested as it also is capable of capturing all anthropogenic CO2 emissions and eliminate the pollution that conventional agriculture emits. A small Indiana company www.terramanustech.com is struggling in Africa and China to introduce a cropping system proven to reduce poverty in rural agricultural settings without the use of GM based seeds. We have tried getting a meeting with the Buffet Foundation folks but no response.

Howard has the potential to make a huge impact in future food production. I've been very frustrated with the efforts in this area of the Bill and Linda Gates foundation. They have used a single focus approach of GM seeds with applied nutrients being the answer.
Until we focus on the life in the soil supporting life above the soil, production successes will only be temporary.
Our Land Grant universities agricultural research is now controlled by big monies pushing the narrow focus of present industrial agriculture. Research for alternative forms of farming has been left to individual farmers. Their progress has been great in recent years considering their limits.
If Howard is to realize his dream he must encourage and support diversity in farming research at our Land Grants.

i was very moved tonight to watch the segment with howard buffett. FOr a long time i have been really been depressed aboaut why this world
is so crazy. The weather either if it is so dry and can't plant and corn or the like. Which only means only a little food that they can eat.Howard finds places where the famers are not doing so good and he went and walked through the field pulled up the stalk to check the soil then peeled back the silk and broke it in half. He said to this lady great job. He is also teaching the farmers how to make a budget.
Just writing this it stills brings a tear to my eyes. It is a great thing to watch the news and like 60 mins. where someone just didn't say oh look how bad things are it is just tooo bad. Gee i wish i could do someting about it. He goes one further and does someting to like. I saw the family and the child out and jumping around and so happy about the fact that perhaps we will be able to eat and drink. For me it didn't stop there. I wanted to run to the phone and call howie up and thank him for his fantastic visions. Now i am going to try and tell you about me. I have this deam you know the one on the bucket list. IT is find a way for it to happen. I would just go and fly to africa and be part of the food hand out because i have seen things on tv where the children bring up there bowls very polietly
in line to get their part of the food. THen to look at the faces of the children faces just light up like we had given them a large amout of money. I have told this dream to serveal people and they have said get it set up to make it happen. Warren raised his son right the right way and make him think that he is a spoiled son. He wasn't him to earn it just the way warren did when he was growing up. I will be happy to read any post that comes to me if anyone know what is the next step to take.
