the past ten I been in severe pain atrophy from a 1985 injury lead to severe pain after TKR. My issue, though complex, can be fixed. Yet with good insurance and after going to 40 doctors over 500 times in ten years, which has caused strokes, major heart problems with over $3,000,000 in medical bills, I still have been unable to get the care in need nor a reason for not helping me. I'm 52 now, and this could happen to anyone, I need help and this is a great yet true story.

There's been a large, uncounted population of the homeless on the streets and homeless families living in their cars going back to the early 80's. Awareness is painful, so it's been hard to see reality.

The beginning of the segment at http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=7389744n&tag=segementExtraScroller%3Bhousing where students were receiving backpacks of food and a bag of bread was filmed at Stenstrom Elementary in Oviedo, FL. If you are interested in learning more about The Backpack Program, either as someone who would like to start it at your school or as a donor, please contact me at terri_koepsell@scps.k12.fl.us. I would love to help anyone who would like to set this up! This is a simple, effective way of providing food for the weekend for families in need.
