If you think the only initials on CEO Jeff Immelt's mind are "GE," then think again. He's also big on "R&D," research and development, and has been tasked to help grow jobs in the biggest initials of all: the U.S.A.

- jeff r immeit is the ceo of ge talk a big talk but ge will not stand behind there products I have a case #12737879 and people pay good hard earn money to fine they bought junk ge dose not care their washer front loads are a money pit so please don't waste your money on ge they have lots of money I don't

- Hmmm- why is it that on what seems to be on more than one occasion a reasonably smart executive is so quick to evoke the " I am beholden to the share holders" point. No kidding....I (we)can only hope you bring up the civic aspect of larger companies underlying role in America at managers meetings.Itis still nice to see an executive try and fight the "what we can measure is all that matters" style.....who knows you may end up helping the managers around you not become civic midgets...just saying- I think somebody needs to catch Jerry Maquire again
